I am not ready to let go...Tian's farewell seemed like a farewell to finally say goodbye to this series...and I don't want to...ever love something soo much that you start to regret loving it? That's what is happening to me, even after crying I still can't seem to let go...
I agree that this is definitely top-tier when it comes to BL of any form. They have chosen to move away from the…
OMG SAME! For me ATOTS is my favorite. It could be due to other reasons too like the fact that I have been waiting forever for this series to air, since the trailer was released…or the fact that I am watching this on-going (even though there are plenty other series that I have watched on-going as well), or the fact that a lot of things seem relatable. But those are just additional reasons. I haven’t watched Manner of Death till now (university work is eating me up currently), but I know for sure that I am gonna love it!
I agree what you said about melodrama, even if a series is good, too much melodrama for me means that I won’t be able to watch it again for the 2nd time without feeling heavy…
I just want P Aof to release a GL series as good as this one…then I will finally be able to die in peace lmao!

Oh I have watched ITSAY, that's why I had said BLs in general, and it does not include ITSAY...yeah ITSAY is also on the top, no denying that. For me though, a series needs to have a good rewatch value...and I can never seem to watch ITSAY for the second time, no matter how hard I try. They have done a way too good of a job, and hit me in the heart. I won't be able to watch it again without feeling heavy and sad. ATOTS on the other hand had me feeling all kinds of emotions and feelings, happy, sad, bubbly, cute, togetherness, compassion. I have watched each and every episode multiple times and it always makes me feel happy. I can't say the same for ITSAY though, but this is just for me, others might have a different experience, and I can understand that. But I love how the series you mentioned not only have a unique plotline, but also manage to execute them without the need for rapey homophobic scenes, external girlfriend conflicts and the typical BL tropes that we are all fed up of
You wanna know how to identify a good series? It’s when the viewers judge the episodes in respect to other episodes of the series itself and don’t compare the series to other shows out there, cause let’s be honest, other BL series in general can’t even touch ATOTS, let alone be worthy of any comparison. Beautiful story, amazing chemistry between actors, and an even more beautiful setting and OST, acceptance of gay characters, this series has everything. A few criticisms out here and there are from people who themselves admitted that they are judging the series in a harsh way cause they love the series too much…sort of like tough love I guess, haha! So those who have still not watched it, give it a go! You won’t regret it, I promise!
Yes to everything on the list. May I add on 2 more things?- No cringey toxic ex-girlfriend coming back to stake…
Oh yes of course...how can I forget the usually homophobic ex-girlfriend who enters the series for drama...they not only make women look bad, they also make actual gay characters look bad as well...especially those side (background) gay (sometimes even transgender) characters who are just there for comedic purposed and to be mocked upon and laughed at by the audience..
The product placement was way too cute...it actually makes me want to buy the product...like seriously, if there was shipping I would have bought it!
If Tian was in Hogwarts, he would definitely be a Gryffindoor… And the Sorting Hat will be like “Hmm…very difficult…Plenty of courage, I see…but lack of common sense and self-preservation. GRYFFINDOOR!!"
I found this....https://twitter.com/MixxiwTime/status/1372977564692619264?s=20Basically if I am not wrong, he…
Who knows what else would be in store for us...especially the Pha Phan Dao cliff scene...like I wouldn't be surprised if after that emotional scene, P Aof will suddenly be like...the actors improvised this too...
Can I add something to your list?6. The theme song. This theme song is the most beautiful I've heard in a BL,…
Couldn't agree more...the OST fits in so well with the series like a puzzle piece...and the fact that they asked Earth which instrument he could play, and when he answered khlui, THEN they decided to incorporate that element...it's just so amazing...
Could someone translate this thread into English? I feel like it's really meaningful even through Google translate,…
I found this.... https://twitter.com/MixxiwTime/status/1372977564692619264?s=20 Basically if I am not wrong, he was telling that Earth improvised the scene and told Tian a sentence that would hurt him the most which is "Leave, I don't want to see your face again" with an expression of anger, sadness, and regret...
Ok so, I just saw a translation on twitter by user @nongghanna
Basically a person tweeted - “Who is angry at Phupha? I came to defend. If I was Phupha and found Torfun’s diary, what Tian had done to Phupha in the diary that it was almost undistinguishable whether it was done from heart or just followed what Torfun did. Someone who is already deeply in love, and it was normal to feel like you don’t know him at all. It was like getting stepped on the heart. Do you understand?”
To which Mix (the actor who plays Tian) replied to that tweet - “Because Tian had done a lot of things that Torfun had written in the diary. Whether it was stir fried 2 colored veggies or it was taking the hand out of the car. It has some influence from Torfun so it wasn’t weird for Phupha to feel suspicious. Not only Phupha who feels suspicious, Tian himself was still confused whether what he did was because he wanted to, or because he did it to represent Torfun.”
I just wanted to share this because I feel like there are so many perspectives to consider in this. And the way Mix defended Phupha was quite cute:)
since Tian admitted himself that he "killed" Torfun, I understand why the villagers and everyone reacted the way…
I legit was shouting at my screen saying "Stupid Tian what are you doing!" haha...but probably his ass wanted to take a better picture since it was night time I guess...
Phupha is a person. He was in shock, thinking that Tian had killed Torfun and lied to him about it. Sometimes…
Exactly...a character is not this or that...I feel that there is no such thing as "If a character behaves like this, then it's out of character". There are no such rules, especially when it comes to situations like these when someone you love is in danger or dies...
I realized that I felt too defensive about this drama cause I love it too much, so instead of arguing with unreasonable comments, I thought it would be better to make a list of why I think this is one of the best series out there…
1. The environment in which the series was shot is raw, authentic, and a fresh breath of air. Given the hard living conditions, not everyone would be willing to take a risk to shoot a series there. Just shows how passionate the cast and crew are.
2. This drama shows us what low self-esteem can do to a person. Constantly being told to be grateful and thinking that you don’t deserve a second chance in life, can be so harmful to not only you but also those around you.
3. This is weird but I empathized with Torfun. She was from a poor background but was ready to leave behind whatever minimal comfort she had in life, just to do something good for others. And on top of that, unrequited love…sigh…
4. Love how each character has a flaw, because of course human beings aren’t perfect and we all have flaws. And when someone close to us dies, people can react in a way no one expected them to. This show doesn’t shy away from that just because the audience wants to see perfect prince like characters with 0 flaws. (Except Longtae though, really taught us how a good friend should be)
5. And finally, the acceptance of gay people, no overused trope like “I am not gay, I only like you” portraying as if it’s an insult or a sin to be called gay. No internalized homophobia, no rapey scenes without consent. We all deserve a friend like Tul in our life!
I am not sure how will I get over this series? Will I even be able to move on? Probably not...my Fridays will never be the same after this series end
Seriously with all the negative comments I went in with the lowest of low expectations for this ep and by the…
Just let the comments be...I agree with you, this episode was really well done...almost all characters had their own flaws which made them genuine people, and it felt very real to me. Overall, I love this drama so much!
Firstly Tian was not just a 'random person' for phupha.I don't know but there is a thing called communication.Phupha…
Tian has such low self-esteem, he would literally take everything upon himself, all the blame and the hate of everyone, and then go off and sacrifice himself without a single thought...I love how there is so much depth to his character, it's just amazing
