Just near the finish line so I won't drop it for that only ,,,but I have to say compared to red sleeve this one…
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Moonshine and The Red Sleeve 😭
Moonshine is more on par with historical dramas like Love in the Moonlight while TRS is on par with dramas like Bossam: Steal the Fate. These are just examples from the ones I’ve watched but the Red Sleeve was much more focused on politics and was a melodrama. Moonshine is a comedy action Saeguk and overall less focused on the politics…
I’m not saying you can’t dislike Moonshine btw, I just think the 2 shows aren’t really comparable other than the fact they’re both Saeguks. Just my opinion though
I'm glad I finished this show loving it! I was a little skeptical with episodes 9&10, I thought I would end up being disappointed in the end but the show was really heartwarming and beautiful 😊 I loved the ost sooo much and I loved all the characters (I wasn't the biggest fan of the 2nd leads like the main couple but the characters themselves were good).
I wish more progress was made in the 2 year time jump with the Sol Yi & Eun Ho and Ji Woong & Chae Ran though but I did like the episode and epilogue! I was also wondering about the status of Yeon Su's grandma and Ji Woong's mom but I'm assuming both are fine since Chae Ran said he seemed to be doing better now in the 2 year time jump and no one mentioned anything bad about Yeon Su's grandmom.
Overall, "Our Beloved Summer" is worth checking out! 🥰
It was an okay watch, I just couldn’t with all the aegyo cutesy scenes, I skipped/ FF through all of it.
Yes!! The aegyo was too much for me. It made me cringe and I started to see FL in a childish light. I just couldn't get into them once they officially got together 😭
I actually liked his character at first. The writers made a fool out of him🙃
I didn't get him in the past episodes and I can't say I get him now. He's been crushing on his friend's girlfriend/ex for years which is something else in itself. I didn't like his reaction to Choi Woong not wanting to talk about it either that one night he was drunk and came to his house.
But today's episode I guess I saw the effort he's trying to put in to get over Yeonsu and how sad and messed up he is over the situation. It made me feel for him 😭 So I don't feel bad about his unrequited feelings per se, more about the fact he's dealing with the emotions better than he was in the past few episodes in my eyes.
I really like this show, I can tell it's gonna break my heart though (already starting too with In Sook and her grandma's scene than Young Ji 🥲😭)
I feel really bad for Mi Do but I also lowkey dislike the way her character is written. She's selfish and I don't blame her because she's dying but on the other hand she's always makes the conversations go left whenever they talk about the murder case 😭
I really liked it!! The chemistry, acting, story (for the most part), and the music were great 😊 There were…
1. I honestly thought people were saying it was sad because she became a concubine after expressing her disinterest for so long but not the case (I was shocked when I realized she was gonna die 😭). Her becoming a concubine was still sad though because we see her lose herself and in this constant limbo of being happy and sad, very bittersweet ending (more bitter) for Deok Im. But I also felt bad for San in some ways too, she never fully expressed her love for him but I understand her.
2. Loosely summed up, Deok Im's whole problem begins and ends with the fact she has limited freedom as a Court Lady and even more so as a concubine; honestly just being involved with the King during that time because even if she was the Queen, she would still have to share her husband. She really ends up in a tight place and does love the Prince so she becomes his concubine but once again it was really sad to watch because she was never 100% happy 😭
4. I do wish I could have seen more happy moments between Deok Im, her son, and King Jeonggo but honestly the show took a dark turn during the 16th episode so I already knew it wasn't gonna happen 😩
5. The one thing I could have absolutely done without was the fairy palace scheme, my goodness it was giving me unnecessary anxiety (like when Deok Im & Court Lady Seo went to go find the scroll 🙃). I also wasn't satisfied with the end of it. I really wanted them to expose the real reason behind it because it was rooted in jealousy like how crazy 😭 Speaking of unsatisfication, I also really wanted King Jeonggo to see the lash marks the concubine gave Deok Im, I was pissed about that 😤
I really liked it!! The chemistry, acting, story (for the most part), and the music were great 😊 There were a lot of times I was hooked so I definitely enjoyed the show overall. A couple things that stuck with me off the top of my head...
1. I kind of knew what I was getting into when I started. I saw many comments saying the ending was sad and that the show never promised a happy ending, or a traditional one rather. I also learned pretty quickly from the Viki comments that it was based on a true story so yeah 🥲
2. I do believe Deok Im loved Yi San but more so Yi San himself without the royal title.
3. Some people weren't pleased with some of San's behavior but knowing it's a story from the 18th Century I can't be mad at it.
4. The pacing for the last few eps were a bit off to me. The years were flashing by so quick and it took me a while to recognize the time jumps 😭
5. The Fairy Palace 😒 that's it and that's all (Until I explain further below 🤣).
6. Loved Deok Im's friends and Court Lady Seo 😊😊😊 Deok Ro could kick rocks, never once felt bad for him
Overall, I liked it and it's absolutely worth the watch if you like historical dramas (especially the more serious and historically accurate ones).
*Honorable mention to the Viki comments, they were absolutely shambolic 😭🤣 some of the rudest (looking at all the beauty critics, y'all were the worst 🙃😒), and the thirstiest comments I've seen 🤣 definitely added to my viewing experience 😂*
Can someone explain to me what happened to princess hwawan’s son in episode 12?
Is he being exiled or killed? Or does he just not want to be her son anymore? I was thinking exiled but then the conversation with his mom made me think he doesn’t want to be her son anymore
This week's episodes were everythingggg 🥰❤️ I don't think they're gonna break up again, it's gonna be a…
I hope the grandma doesn't die because that's gonna take a dark turn in the drama. I would appreciate keeping the angst and bad feelings to a minimum 😭 I also think it's just gonna take away from other parts of the drama, it would be unnecessary.
This week's episodes were everythingggg 🥰❤️ I don't think they're gonna break up again, it's gonna be a happy ending. If they were to break up that would be wicked on the writer's part because we're getting so many sweet moments of them together 😭

I also HATE Sang Hyuk, he was so distasteful. It's been a while since I've been so annoyed at a second lead 😭
