I feel like most of us don't understand what getting into a relationship again means to Gu Nanting. Other than the fact that his ex was his fiancé and died because of his carelessness (what he thinks), he also feels immense guilt towards Ni Zhan. His ex was Ni Zhan's cousin, and he probably feels like he took NZ's sister away, because they we friends before she was his girlfriend. And our man GNT was probably just an episode away from admitting his feelings, but it just had to be NZ who asked him to confirm them. He must feel guilty as hell for even liking someone new in front of his dead ex's family. And NZ also dropped the bomb that he liked Cheng Xiao! How could he bring himself to say he likes Cheng Xiao now? Fist he took the sister away and now the girl he likes too? Ni Zhan's existence means so many different things to GNT. He feels guilty, ashamed, responsible, thankful and sorry for him. It's not as simple as you get the girl, I get the girl. But he does love CX that's why he's losing his mind by himself. Don't hate him too much, he'll come around soon.
