I assume you're currently in early episodes, but ZY/YQL is acting to be a soft girl to grab GX's attention. That's why it gets weird and over the top seeing her acting. Yue Qian Ling's real personality is a tough girl here so that's probably why you feel discomfort seeing her acting demure. ZY is one of the actresses that I think has a wide range of acting experience, from being a heartless bully to cheerful girl and a really, really soft personality in Love Me, Love My Voice. If you want to see ZY acting as a soft girl, you should go watch that drama 😊

Because now I seriously think he's a bit creepy and doesn't respect Ying Zi's privacy. Ying Zi might find his action as sweet but honestly it's a bit creepy.

I am up to episode 28, but I can understand the sudden change. In a way, Yao Zijin has betrayed Empress Dowager Zhang's feelings because she saved Guo Guifei's life although Zijin does that to give accounts regarding the previous emperor's death for Zanji. On the contrary, Hu Shanxiang gives a tremendous help to Empress Dowager when she gives the previous emperor's medical record to the princes when they insist on barging to emperor's room. Of course, Zhang never had any real affection towards Yao Zijin. The only thing she hopes is for Yao Zijin to bear some royal offsprings because she knows Zijin and Zanji love each other. But after what Yao Zijin did, she knows she can't rely on her anymore so she starts going against her. Although it sure feels rushed and unnatural. I still hope they lessen the useless drama between harem women, but they still did put some characters who have drastic change without any clear reason, even though they were so likable in the beginning, such as Empress Dowager Zhang and Su Yuehua. Such a pity :(

I understand what you're saying. But the FL's character script sure has some really flawed issues. One time she told the prince she loves him, and got mad at him when he threw a tantrum because of Hu Shanxiang, but the next time the FL told him she refused to marry him and all. Then, why in the first place does she told him her feelings? After that she keeps rejecting him so actually I can't quite grasp what her true feelings are. Maybe because there's not enough scenes to actually peel off the layers of her complex feelings and thoughts so it became indiscernible. On the contrary, ML's feelings are crystal clear and how he dotes on her and being very forward in showing his love, though sometimes his personality can be a bit annoying because of his royalty pride.

I think no one here pointed out how much the show tries to portray Changge as an extremely capable fast-learner. Remember when she couldn't even bandage A'Sun's wound and end up making it worse? Here, in a very short time, she already assist Master Sun treat the wounded refugees and even diagnose their wounds. She truly knows no bound in learning. Usually, most of the dramas portray badass female leads very poor in nursing and treating others and need a long time to learn a new set of skills different from martial arts.. but I think Changge can learn basically anything when she sets her mind for it. She truly has the golden quality of a genius.
