I think Naksu speaks in the Jeolla dialect, but I'm not sure because I'm not from the region. I haven't watched "Youth of May", but if Go Minsi's character is native to Gwangju then she should speak in the Jeolla dialect.
The man who saw the star in the middle of the Dipper shine, the sign of the king, was the same man who died in front of child Naksu. So I'm guessing he is Naksu's father, and he worked at Cheongbugwan (he wore the same uniform as Jin Mu, and Cheonbugwan is a royal administration which observes and records happenings in the sky), and he and the rest of the family got killed under the orders of the royal family because he knew of the existence of a future king not from the royal family.
Maybe I'm exaggerating things, but I see that Naksu and Jang Wook are dressed in matching colors to show they're on the same boat and they need each other to survive 😊
Fun fact: Jung Somin knows ballet and Korean dance, this was why Naksu nailed her dance move in episode 3. It explains her agility in the action scenes.
God I hate the "I'm doing all this to protect you" trope so much when will these ppl learn 🙄
Honestly, Jang Gang just made the problem bigger than it is. If he goes on to say Jang Wook's not his son and left soon after, isn't it going to confirm the suspicions of the royal family later when they find out the late king and Jang Gang switched souls? He's saying he's protecting our male lead but damn he just complicated things.
-Dang-gu's such a fluffball and a ray of sunshine -- his eye smiles though :) It was cute how he tried to play cupid between Yul and Naksu because he was led to falsely believe that Naksu had a crush on Yul. Yoo Insoo is a unicorn here, whereas he was a Terminator in "All of Us are Dead". -I LOLed when Jang Wook got offended when Naksu called him easy (to approach), compared to Yul. -The goat joke was random but it's funny when you think of goats which are more than 20 years old XD -Overall, I really like how the Hong Sisters portrayed the "enemies-but-have-to-work-together" trope. -Call me evil but when Yul blasted Naksu away, it reminded me of when Young-joon accidentally pushed Mi-so in her office chair away in "What Wrong with Secretary Kim". I wonder if it was a reference to the director's previous work heh
Getting flogged 100 times and he still exited in the ending like a boss with Mudeok wow he is indeed special 😫✨
Yeah I get that Jang Wook had his gate of energy open so he was able to endure the beatings, still getting flogged 100 times in the past literally meant execution!
So far my theory is Mu Deok is SFL older sister...
Seems like the eldest Jin daughter died before Cho-yeon was even born because from the way she was referring to her older sister, it sounded as if she didn't know her personally.
Seul-bi still has a long way before her to be self-sufficient, but it's delightful to see how fast she's catches up on the hijinks of the modern world. She's becoming sassier and more thick-skinned XD
It was funny when the boutique owner called out Seul-bi for copying his sale phrase since we know he dabbled in the counterfeit business. Speaking of whom, the market people acted like drama viewers when they were surmising about Min-joon's connection with Seul-bi lol
Is Seul-bi's mother going senile, or is she faking it? Ugh that housekeeper is horrible! I hope she has a worse fate than her predecessor.
It's interesting to see that Chairman Seon was like Min-joon in his youth, but then he got corrupted by the wealth offered by clairvoyance -- I wonder if Min-joon will walk on his path.
Ooh now I get the poster with Naksu-in-Mudeokyi and Jang Wook unsheathing her sword! Really neat analogy! So basically episodes 1 & 2 showed that the Great Gyungcheon Lake embodies massive celestial energy, and this energy empowered Naksu enough for her to be able to pull out her sword from the scabbard. Therefore, she theorized that a similar amount of energy could also do the trick, thereby she considered that Jang Wook's energy could be an alternative source, which led her to poison him without disclosing the name of the toxin, so that the physicians would have to open his gate of energy to treat him. In short, Jang Wook is a "charger" to Naksu. Their relationship is truly symbiotic because she teaches him magic and in return, he gives her strength, typical of the basis of the relationship of the Hong Sisters' OTP lol
Why did Wook's father did not want him to practice spells and closed his gate?
There is definitely more than the simple reason Jang Gang doesn't claim Jang Wook as his son. Remember he's been experimenting on soul shifters, and he was especially horrified when he found out about what the King did to Dohwa. There must be an undesirable consequence of children born from the union of soul shifters and humans.
Jang Wook needs a good master. Plus Nak Soo kills Mages. Mages are a caste which promotes an order to make their…
My comment was an exaggerated joke. I'm just saying that Naksu and Jang Wook's relationship is of the odd sort at first glance if one doesn't know the fine details. And I see I should have chosen a clearer term than "serial killer", I chose the latter term to create a bigger impact, but it gave mixed signals.
Why would Jang Wook's dad reject him? I mean, okay, it was the other dude's SOUL who was inside his body doing…
Souls inhabiting other people's bodies go havoc and become zombie-like creatures when the soul and body clash (I'm understanding this like when human bodies reject organ transplants). Jang Gang was trying to find a way to stop the side effects, but I feel like Naksu would become an exceptional case because the "alchemy of soul" mark was in the eyes of Mudeokyi, instead of the chest where the heart is supposed to be. I suppose that the "heart" is behind the soul shifters' losing their humanity. I also have the inkling that Jang Wook is more exceptional than he appears to be. Perhaps Jang Kang found out that children born from soul shifters have the potential to cause damage, which was why he locked Jang Wook's spiritual energy.
who felt that the comedy felt random and unexcepted(it was not bad comedy )
I'm used to the Hong Sisters' comedic writing (it's their main genre), but I understand with a dark theme, comedy might not mesh well with the premise.
The blue mark of the soul switching is in Moo Deoks eyes... That is what Jang Wook sees when encountering her…
I feel like Jang Wook was able to see the blue glimmer in her eyes because of light. When he first met her at the brothel, the sunlight set off the glimmer in her eyes, and at Songrim when he wanted to confirm her identity as Naksu, it was the moonlight that was cast on her face.
