The shuffling like a toddler always got me. Why is this grown woman walking like she is a 1 year old?!!! Why do these actors think that’s cute? Beats me.

‘They’ are not homewreckers. Just the Seung-hi and In-ho are. The child is innocent.

Jeez.

What did her daughter Eun Seo do? She is the biggest victim in all this. No father, no respect in society, and has to watch a mother lose herself and all self respect. I feel bad for that kid. And still she is way mature for her age and tells her mom all the right things.

As much as I love the drama and of course, they both have the very best intentions, the fact is — if I had a high-school going daughter and she were hanging out with a working adult, I would be very uncomfortable and will put my foot down. Completely different story if its 23 vs 27 for example.

Yea.. she hasn’t apologized. She hasn’t explained herself. They haven’t really talked about what happened.

The drama was about the women of the palace, their tribulations, challenges, lack of agency and golden cages, as the name suggests - ‘The Red Sleeve’. The romance is simply a catalyst to tell a part of that story.

A central premise to the show was, ‘we know the king loved the court lady, but did the court lady love the king?’. Truth is, can an equal love even be possible in such a word with such power imbalances? Those are the themes the show explored and did a great job at it. Sure they loved each other but she had to sacrifice herself and the king never quite understood her or what he was doing to her even though he had the best of intentions. It didn’t try to make us feel comfortable because the reality was not comfortable.

Yea.. for me. I think more than the editing, there is a lot to fit into 16 episodes and so few threads get shortened or hastened.

I adore the show, so these are minor quibbles. But yes, I do hope they give us some insight into what’s going on her head after that ‘nip it in the bud’ scene. I get that she is thankful but was that it?

I was surprised. It made sense for him to hug her but her unrestrained hug back given the orange scene and choke scene aka her resolution to nip it in the bud and her fear of losing her will and thoughts, felt too sudden for me.

I don’t think the scene is meant to be cute or healthy. It is meant to show the power imbalance and him abusing his power. He is only driving her further away with this BS.

He looked really good in Chief Kim where it was all suits.

It is an open but positive and hopeful ending. There is romance but that is not the point or focus of the show.

I feel the same way as you. The FL could have a bit more agency or movement. She is kinda boring now and just being pushed around by people. Other side characters are caricaturish. Moo Hak is well written though.

I am sad this show is over. I am going to keep thinking about it for a while.

I had a question though. Can someone explain to me what LBJ meant by, “I didn’t tell him. I don’t plan to. You didn’t tell her either. That’s why you told me. Because you can’t tell that person.

Because if we do, it will ruin everything. It will become something the two of us can’t solve”

What will telling the person they like, ruin? What can’t they solve? Is she referring to their marriage?
