Also I'm prob in the minority but I respect FL for not giving in with info towards the ML. I know it's v satisfying if she relents and asks him for help and they work together and whatnot but she's always been an independent survivor who doesn't want to harm others so I feel like it makes sense for her to be extra stubborn. Her initial reticence is a little annoying yes but I meannn it doesn't take long for him to find out what happens so at least they didn't drag it out. idk just wanted to put that out there to balance out all the frustrated/hate comments haha
Came in with no expectations but omg LOVE the synergy between the main couple!!! I haven't seen a couple work so tacitly together in a while, usually it's the ML fighting wars or serving court while the FL does business or tackles household problems (kinda balancing each other out). The way they're always on the same frequency is sooo satisfying
Nooo I wish someone told me sooner this doesn't have much in common with the original source Cnovel ;u; had to drop halfway through bc the fl's victories felt cheapened/glossed over in one way or another. Idk it was never giving the counterattack I'm used to from the Cnovel author.

XH told XFF he would be back when the flowers blossomed. 3. He came back on a horse when the flowers blossomed. Even without the 5 minute special, I would say it's a pretty satisfying ending.
We also got: 1. Last minute character development from Jiang dad (honestly cathartic at this point for him) 2. Xue dad healing all the way 3. HOT!!! wedding scene 4. Antagonists getting what they deserve 5. Goodbyes from the academy friends 6. Special episode: a kid and even breaking the fourth wall?? Come on, that's pretty darn cute.

Butttt a quick Google translate reveals that the plot doesn’t match up at all?? Lmao. Also I found some article on Baidu that said the FL was inspired by an actual imperial chef in the Song Dynasty (https://baike.baidu.com/tashuo/browse/content?id=caaff993c57a2588ab73941b&lemmaId=14123636&fromLemmaModule=list&lemmaTitle=珍馐记&lemmaFrom=tashuo-feed) which was v interesting and although I couldn’t find much details about the chef on Google, it seems like she existed!

Just started this drama (I've been putting it in the background) and it's hilarious!! Agree with what another user said below me - it's a silly detective drama with a Sherlock Holmes-like mc who doesn't take himself - or the people around him - seriously. It's got cheap effects and cheaper dubbing (why is it so bad??) but for some reason that adds to the charm. I'm honestly having a blast watching this
