4 episodes in and the FL is slightly annoying - she's really pushy and meddling. Imagine telling your FRIEND that you need some alone time but they follow you anyways... And I swear that she can only do this because she's a rich girl. And 2nd ML isn't particularly important at the moment.
I really like Takara's communication - he makes it known that he does like Amagi and even empahsises that he wants to spend more time with him. And Katori? Damn. I can't help but crush on him. And Amagi calling him his soulmate and then Katori telling Takara that he's his mentor and friend soulmate, and then proceeding to mention that 'Amagi seems to be going through late puberty' is just hilarious to me
it annoys me that there are people who keep saying 'this isn't boys love' or 'it's just bromance' and rating it…
I had the same thoughts. I have my own critiques surrounding the but I noticed a lot of comments about how this wasn't a BL. It seems common to me that since there are so many BLs these days, certain people expect them to be all over each other and there's just a lot of fetishisation on here. I think too many people are watching it with a filter over their eyes expecting every relationship between men to be gay and they get disappointed when there isn't. They probably wouldn't do the same for two women And like you said, I like that Shiro's sexuality didn't define him (sorry for the rant - I just haven't seen many others share the same opinion)
This drama has made me realise that I like dramas that take place in one setting with a limited amount of people and a mystery. Similar to a locked room mystery. And also boarding school dramas - I need more!!
Cdramas especially the historical costume dramas are usually longer for world building and character growth, but…
Ahh!! Thanks for the recommendation!! I'll definitely look into it. Thinking back, I will say that there are quite a few chinese films that I have found enjoyable and the quality was always amazing (in terms of content and cinematography)
There's just something about 90s jdramas - they capture the perfect tone. jdramas seem to be the most withstanding against time in my opinion. Whereas I've always struggled to watch kdramas from the 00s and even the early 10s. But of course, kdramas have some of the biggest budgets that allow them to top the charts since the 2010s. But I do think both jdramas and kdramas have their own uniqueness in each decade. I've always found it a lot harder to really get into cdramas because of the length, unfortunately. Really great article, by the way!!! :)
