what a solid watch. can't remember the last time I enjoyed a drama this much
Funnily enough, I've always struggled with kdramas that were slightly older. I've only enjoyed about 3 other kdramas that were released before 2016, but now I'm wondering if I've been missing out on older kdramas.
Also, I just read through your profile and saw we have a lot of common interests (for dramas and music which is pretty cool) :)
I can't tell if it's just because there's a lot of webtoons being adapted to dramas these days, but I totally forgot that this existed, and it came out MONTHS ago. Even though I remember commenting on here when the news was first released. And a lot of the reviews/comments seems underwhelming
how did I only JUST find out that Yeo Jin Goo is in a historical... I'm so disappointed in myself. The title is a bit of a tongue twister so I keep calling it The Clowned Crown instead lol
I miss the card playing from the first half. The prison arc was my favourite. Even though I slightly lost interest in the second half, I like how everything wrapped up 8.5/10 :)
Agree so much with you here. I know, he's a bad guy or grey character at best, but I grew very fond of him anyway,…
well, they kind of hinted at the fact that he was still alive in the last episode. Right before Yo Han is kidnapped by the NIS guy, he looks up and sees a man wearing a mask in black. And didn't Sun Oh also wear that mask when he killed the grandmother...? I think they wanted to be a bit coy with it and not totally reveal whether it was him. I think that he managed to escape being burnt alive but was probably burnt, so it would make sense why he would want to cover his face
I go to pretty much any jdrama from the 2000s and even early 2010s that involve children/teens, and tell me why Kamiki Ryunosuke is always the kid?? I swear he's one of the few child actors that got main roles as a kid, and even now as an adult still gets them
I would do it. If I had to choose between a life of love or riches, I would choose to be rich and could always…
FR SAME!!! having a lot of money can make the difference between living and poverty and not living in poverty. If you have money and can afford to live comfortably and access good healthcare and work, it seems like it would be easier to be happy
I just don't agree how people find that the ending instantly tanked in their favor because Miho died. Yes, it…
Her death was unavoidable and I don't think her death necessarily is what contributed to why people say the ending was bad. Firstly, her death seemed to abrupt. Of course I don't know how it works scientifically. But she was only exposed once and died only a little while after the boy from prison died. Secondly, everything was wrapped up in the most bizarre montage, so it's why I was disappointed by the ending in particular. Also, I feel like justice wasn't completely served at times (e.g. the paper you mentioned - they fought so hard for it all but I do think we got the satisfying ending we should have where they all had to admit to their crimes)
Lol i'm leaving a comment here again because i can't stop thinking about the plot!! love how it makes us all think!…
Gong Jihoon was kind of iconic imo. He wasn't a dumbass trying to cover his ass. At most, he was just a suck up. And I laughed when you said he was the only winner.
I randomly thought about this drama the other day and how it traumatised me. I really want to re watch this but I don't know if I can handle this. I had to stop watching the first episode last year when I watched this because it started off so dark and I was already crying...
some good things I liked about this drama and some things that I have questions about....
****WHY I LOVED IT*** - love being in prison. loved prison playbook and one ordinary day for that setting. and it was the same with this - love seeing a married couple (that didn't involve infidelity). Flower of Evil showed that - an amazing antagonist. Not the typical rich and powerful guy who is trying to cover up his scandals. It's a guy who wanted a revenge but became evil because of it. And he also used his connections to become powerful. - lowkey loved gong jihoon. (I saw another person call him the only winner and they're so right lol). He got the happy ending he wanted and didn't have to kill someone to get there (i don't think...)
****Some things that have me slightly confused:**** - thinking back, changho could have been anyone, right? wasn't he chosen on a whim because he was "incompetent". Also, at the end of the 1st ep, they made it seem like he was going to have a really big shift in character. And when that didn't happen in ep 2, I thought he was going to get shot in prison in his head and then it would mess with his brain and then his personality would change (because that is possible and it has happened IRL). So essentially, changho just had really bad luck which causes him A LOT OF PAIN - including his freaking wife dying!! OMFG - the blood tests. Miho gave the fakes to Jihoon, but for what? He gave them to the elder but I'm not sure what impact they had - the real serial killer son. He was mentioned at the end in regards to the autopsy, but that's it. And how the tf did they just let a serial killer run around America without being worried he would repeat certain actions?? He was never shown either. - also, Changho got the old man in the care home released, but where did he go? - where tf was Miho's funeral?? They could have made it 10x sadder is they showed EVERYONE (including the gangsters and even Jihoon sad and grieving at her funeral). And then, they'd have even more resolve to defeat Doha. and it was a bit sudden. like. she only got exposed to it ONCE. she hardly lasted longer than the boy who has probably been exposed to it multiple times - and they just resolved everything in black and white montage at the end?? are you kidding? where was the satisfaction? the vincenzo killings at the end were satisfying. This? not so much. I was watching the last ep and kept checking how long was left because it was so rushed all of a sudden - oh, and something about the way they killed off the OG Big Mouse pisses me off. He was doing this to avenge his daughter, and I don't think he got the justice. - same with he guy who died at the start who wrote the paper. and also, that guy who killed his wife...wtf? I was waiting for him to panic and tell everyone but he didn't. And they didn't even find out that Doha helped cover the murder - I just think there was a lot of unnecessary deaths, or at least when they died - not really important but I don't see why miho quit her job at the prison. she probably could have gotten more info from continuing to work there
*** despite there being so many confusing things (and I'm sure there's more), the bad DOES NOT outweigh the cons. Still loved this. It also became a bit of emotional support for me, so maybe that's why I love it so much. I might also keep adding to this as I think of more things
