I watched the 2 episodes over, this time with subtitles and I have to say this drama suffers from nothing but…
I think Hyeri and Rain have what it takes to act out a romance together. What helps with believability (or unbelievability) is the way the scenes are cut and put together or the sequence in which they are shown. That's what doesn't work and why this drama seems like a failure to people. They're here for the romance lol, and they're not getting what they want. There are many comments about Heyri and Min Hyuk not seeming like brother and sister, but I have to say, when I watched the 1st ep for the first time raw, I had the immediate thought that they were siblings. I do agree however, that in some scenes, they seem suspiciously not. Like if the director is trying to set up a ground base for a triangle... with her brother. Awful. Poor directing, smh. T_T

Check this out, entertainer asking for another chance *wink* http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016/04/ddanddara-to-air-new-version-of-first-2-episodes-in-response-to-negative-feedback
Is this true? I wonder what and how they will air it? I appreciate it if its true though, because aside from that one little problem, the show is good.

I like everything else about the show - the characters, the acting even, and yes, how the characters are fleshed out. I love Ji Sung's character and want to see him become the top entertainment company in the end. That's why the bad directing is bugging me. It's the only suffering point and I need them to fix it. Don't ruin Ji Sung for me :( . Ji Sung does excellent acting, and I love how his character is versatile and determined here, bright and positive.

I say 'horrific' because while cute, it was cringeworthy in the sequencing of the episode. They met for a total…
Exactly!! I'm saying the same thing. So there was no reason for that staring scene and that twirl scene. they don't fit into the story. It's like a fish out of water. They need to quarrel more and work together to make her bro a star, interact more and get to know each other before we have scenes like that.

??? I love this... Are you guys trying to find the faults? You guys are making me feel like I'm not supposed to…
I like it, like the story and the characters. It's not low quality at all. I think there's just poor directing in some scenes so their placement in the drama doesn't make sense. I even like the 2nd female lead. Her character is really cool.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes! And a really unimportant point but: there is actually romance between…
Supposed to be, but the directing mucks it up. They have potential to make it work simply because of acting, but the placement of those 'love scenes' so far falls short of making sense or connecting to the story in your mind. I liked it too, so my only beef is the poor directing.

I say 'horrific' because while cute, it was cringeworthy in the sequencing of the episode. They met for a total on 1 minute and exchanged no info about each other's characters, nothing of note. Then the scene through the window... why stare at eachother? You don't know each other and are not close enough to be attracted. it's not even insta-attraction since all viewers could detect something wrong. This scene would have worked later down when they knew each other a little better. And that twirl scene? Cliche with no substance. Fell flat. it would also have worked better later on. Fans would have appreciated it more and it would just be cute and sweet, not cringeworthy. The issue is not lack of chemistry, but bad directing. Long rant over.

I watched the 2 episodes over, this time with subtitles and I have to say this drama suffers from nothing but bad directing. The casting is good, the acting is excellent, even the story is strong and has promise. The directing though... it falls far short of expectations in a Ji Sung drama. The first ep was too fast paced and confusing. The second builds on the confusing world of the third and not much happens, no new information is given. It was all unloaded in ep1. If the world of novel writing, we call that bad infodump and event sequencing. As a result of the directing, Hyeri and Ji Sung's 'romance' falls short. I see the potential, but the way it;s handled is horrific to watch. I only hope it improves.

I hope it's a doctor in love with his resident kind of show. I love those, especially after D-Day

Guys. O_o .....WTF was up with the directing in this first episode?! Everything was weirdly spliced together so…
It's almost certain they're paired together. I've seen stills online and the crew have said they have good chemistry on set.

2nd lead seems more like her brother than a potential bf. We can only watch and see. however there was some (minor) skinship and budding romance between Ji Sung and Hyeri in Ep2.

I think I've watched enough drama to figure out for myself. They usually aren't. Whether it's very little romance or not, it's usually romance between the leads when they say 'Actor X paired with Actress A in new drama."

2. Episode was just sad too. The forced skinship didnt help either... as I thought this drama will probably be…
I think their acting is good, but you're right. They're short on sparks. The nurturing mentor donseang vibe is very strong so it bounces off the screen lol. Their true relationship reflects in the drama, which is not a bad thing, but not suitable for a romance.

Update: I rewatched both episodes. They're both good actors (Ji Sung great!) so they could make the romance work simply by acting. However, the placement of the 'romance' scenes make no sense. It's too early for them to be staring without knowing why. Ji Sung didn't find anything cute or engaging about her yet, and she's not heatedly pissed off, not have they interacted beyond 5 seconds. Why the staring? Bad directing ruined our romance :( .... I still love the show though lol.

I'm so sorry... It does when the genre says 'romance' and the reason I decided to watch is the 'romance'. I won't waste my time watching something that does not appeal to my genre and shouldn't be accountable to anyone for my personal TV taste.

I'm watching it raw now. I can't understand much, but they do meet in ep2 of course. He seems to like her. I think. It could just be him being friendly. But one thing is certain... things get interesting in this episode.

I have low expectations... I just want them to meet. Can you believe the whole episode went by and the leads did not meet each other? makes me wonder what exactly is supposed to be the focus. His career? If so, it's off to a bad start.

I agree with you. The acting is believable and excellent from Ji Sung as usual, I will continue watchig to see what's up with his character. The story so far is boring to me and yes, the directing was too fast and too... let's just say "weird".

After looking at episode 1, i think this will be short on romance, which is a pity for me. Hyeri is so much younger than Ji Sung that I'm sure they'll have to limit their screen time and closeness together. 1st ep was a kind of disappointment, though Ji Sung was entertaining and excellent as usual. The script though...
