Title Nirvana in Fire Spoiler
Amazing ! This is just the best of the best out of all cdramas.
My favorite part was their worst fight where Prince Jing refused to listen to Lin Shu and in exasperation he was like "Xiao Jingyan you stop right there!" And he really did stop haha. But more importantly, he wasn't mad at Lin Shu for calling him by his name (since calling royalty by their given names instead of their titles is considered disrespectful, unless they're very close)! I was pretty impressed with Jingyan tbh

Person Li Yan Qian
From what I know about her, she's a 90s born! I think she has the potential to go far in life :)
On The Birth of The Drama King Oct 28, 2020
I've been watching the behind the scenes clips for this drama and honestly, I can't believe they even released half of these clips. Both leads are from the same idol group and have known each other for years, which can explain why they're so close, but still, the things they do! Mingjie always hugging Yanchen, Yanchen always touching Mingjie (including his butt), Mingjie sitting in Yanchen's lap, Yanchen always trying to kiss Mingjie (no, seriously, though it's usually his cheek)... Like, aren't they idols?! Don't they have to preserve their reputations?! (No wonder it seems like even some of the production staff ship the lead actors lol)

what was the nickname ye zun used??
He said "where is my little Yunlan?". Generally you don't call other people you're not close with little anything, especially not other guys so... What does Ye Zun think of their relationship hahaha

FHSJDHSK I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED MY COMMENT GAH GOTTA RETYPE AGAIN

Hey, nice article and I enjoyed it! I just want to add my $0.02 as well as some Cnetizens' comments I've seen so far.

- Some people question why did they choose to adapt Guardian of all of Priest's novels considering the amount of content they'd have to change due to censorship, and it's not just the BL parts, but also the mythology parts. But then, if they didn't, we wouldn't have this drama.

- I liked the candy change myself, too! That scene where Zhao Yunlan shoves the lollipop into Shen Wei's mouth was so cute and sweet (pun intended)

- Lots of people have questioned just what does Ye Zun think of Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan's relationship based on the nickname, simply because it's not a nickname you just call anyone!

- The entire cast and crew has read the novel (though fans joke the scriptwriters didn't lol), so fans joke that the leads are holding the script but acting according to the novel haha. (Rumours have it that Zhu Hong's actress is also a fan of the novel! And the fact she's in this as well as Winter Begonia has me wondering if she likes BL, hahahaha.)

- The leads came up with some of the most iconic scenes in the drama, incidentally! Like the scene in the car you have in your article and the "Hei Pao-gege bye" scene from episode 25. Shen Wei's sleeve garters were also Zhu Yilong's idea too.

- Not sure if you've seen some of the deleted scenes and behind the scenes, but they're fun. A new BTS released this year (that's right, we're still getting new Guardian content in the year 2020) was of the leads rehearsing the park scene where Ye Zun attacks Zhao Yunlan. When Zhu Yilong suddenly ran towards Bai Yu, the director said to Zhu Yilong "hey don't kiss him (Bai Yu)" and I nearly screamed lmao. And of course the Ye Zun deleted scene mentioned further down this comment section!

And actually, there IS a DVD boxset for Guardian released this year! There's 50 minutes of extras, of which 30 minutes have already been released. I don't know what the remaining 20 minutes contain yet, because I'm still debating whether to get the CN version or the Japanese version - yes, there's a Japanese-subbed version released this year too! So far, the JP version doesn't have new content according to buyers, but the last JP volume has yet to be released... (Us fans are thinking whether the JP version might have new content because they don't have the censorship issue...)

Sorry for the ultra-long comment but I'm not sorry, I'll write this all over again if I have to!

Hi! Love your well-written and well-research article on Guardian **thumbs up**I haven't really research on the…
That Ye Zun deleted scene is honestly one of my favorites, haha. But I get why they edited it out.

I believe they also differentiate between TV and web dramas. Most costume dramas are web dramas. Web dramas are…
There's a lot of costume dramas aired as web dramas, actually! Even Story of Yanxi Palace was aired first as a web drama! That's how they bypass the TV restriction.

Who was your favorite character? Gillan Chung's character?I watched it years ago and didnt even recognize or remember…
Not the person you replied to, but yeah, for me it was Gillian's character. I was so sad when she died, she deserved so much more but she just loved Hu Yidao that much :(

I actually like Ady An but ugh her character's so annoying in this one...
Mm... generally agree with the comments here. The first half of S1 was more interesting, and actually having tomb scenes. I fast-forwarded both the mute girl scenes and the Piaopiao storyline, they were so ugh. I didn't mind the Warehouse 11 parts so much, but the tomb raiding part is still the best and supposed to be the core of the storyline. Still, I figure they're just trying to do their best within censorship guidelines.
(From what I heard from a friend, apparently Warehouse 11 only has ONE chapter in the Chongqi novel... but it's a whopping entire half of S1 here.........)

Title Young Blood
Did not expect to enjoy the drama as much as I did. It was entertaining. Although IMO, it should ended at episode…
I just finished this and I can understand what you mean by ending at episode 32. Or the start of episode 33. I felt the first half of the story was more fun than the latter half, myself.

And I totally concur with the strong female lead! For once, we're really getting a strong female lead who doesn't rely on male characters to save her, and she's very independent and strong-minded. There needs to be more of her in Cdramas!

4 episodes in, I really wanted to watch this for Zhu Yilong and Liu Shishi but ugh I'm so frustrated with the main cast it's hard to continue. I might watch a few more episodes, but I'm this close to dropping it already. The main characters all annoy me in various ways, making it difficult to continue watching...

Anyone thinks he kinda looks like a younger version of Deng Chao? No? Just me?
(it's a compliment, I used to have a crush on Deng Chao)

Adorable and funny. I quite enjoyed it a lot, and thought that our main leads were pretty decent! (Man, what are they feeding their idols there? Is there some secret requirement that idols must be able to act?)

Hope Zhu yi long won't have another pitiful character.. I swear I'm almost exhausted from crying because of how…
There's a running joke among fans that it's because he looks so beautiful despite being pitiful that he keeps getting such roles ?
