It comes off as heartless and selfish on the part of the parent who does it. I get that they've been through a lot, but it's not a good look to then become the buttwipe who makes others suffer with you.

They've got pretty good communication in the show for the most part, so an actual breakup feels out of place. Unless Ml still keeps his family situation to himself til the end and FL feels hurt by it and wants a break??

i don't think there is going to be an actual break up. more like a hiccup separation. some space may be a better way to explain it. it seems whatever break will not be either lead wanting it.
