Finally!!! Character development! Again I feel like one of the few actually enjoying this show. I feel like some parts make me scratch my head and other parts are so mature and realistic. Is it two different screenwriters wth? Chon finally made a decision and now Ton has to face reality that he is ignorant and not soo smart to see what is all around him
I enjoyed this episode. looks like we will start to see some character progression from next week. Also Ton is a dumbass and I want to give my baby chon a hug
I am having so much fun watching this. Its been a little bit since a romantic show made me giggle so much. Last time I had so much fun watching a romcom show was Gaya se Pelikula. Oh Mando!! might become another one of my faves. Ahhhhhhhhhhh
lee yeon is too powerful and smart to get a weak point for the villain... so it made sense why the villain was…
Like I said she does start up as a strong and interesting character. Also a damsel in distress does not mean that they have to make stupid decisions or disrupt the hero's plans. It means a female character who is in a predicament that causes the cast (or hero) to unite and save her from it https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DamselInDistress
When we start out she has been deeply affected by her parents death and her main goal was to search for them. That made her more interesting because of the mystery of their disappearance and how it affected her by making her initially distrustful of everyone. She also had this drive to find the truth for families who have lost someone due to supernatural experiences.
Then she found her parents and suddenly we found out that she had something else that made her interesting that is the imugi. After people started to die and the plague started, the writers failed to justify to me as to why should we care about Ji Ah anymore and what her dying would mean to the world. Infact I was leaning towards her dying for the greater good. Instead there was no further character development. It was just her stuck in this reoccurring of limbo where her hands were tied and she was just... there and Lee Yeon kept trying to save her. While we received character progress for secondary characters. Even when secondary characters made dumb decisions atleast they were doing something/anything!!
Its not an issue just affecting nine tailed but its a reoccurring theme in fantasy based kdrama stories.
Its okay if you disagree. I feel like as characters Ji Ah and Lee Yeon should have been better written. :)
Please kdrama writers give me more "battle couple" and less "damsel in distress". These Korean fantasy stories…
I really wish they kept the ghost of the week/horror format because it was very interesting. It would have been cooler if its both of them finding mythical creatures and taking them down while they have a bigger mythical creature they need to defeat. Like him training and preparing her for her destiny.
Instead the writers wrote themselves into a corner and started throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
Please kdrama writers give me more "battle couple" and less "damsel in distress". These Korean fantasy stories are blending together. I am tired of female leads that start out interesting and end up becoming so bland that you can replace them with a flower plant. Even the supporting characters are better written.
I am actually finding the show interesting. I am looking forward to character development from most of the characters. I think people are being a bit too harsh especially since its just been 4 episodes. Unfortunately people like tonhon do exist in reality and we can see where he got his homophobic and misogynistic ideals from. As for Chon, he is so precious and such a sweet guy and you can see why. Both tonhon and chonlatee have vastly different parental figures and I am looking forward to seeing how things turn out.
Also Chon's mom is amazing and a vast contrast to Ton's dad.
This is like a dark comedy version of Theory of love. Also protect Chon please!!! I am really loving it so far. I kinda wish I waited so I can marathon it ahhh
