I love this recommendation! Chinese productions are often neglected with the Hallyu going around. So I agree with you that sometimes one just needs something else. I also enjoy a good romcom. I have not seen any of those movies but certainly will now! Thanks!
I really like this drama and all its predecessors but really, the first episode is horrible. If I see one more version of "unconvincing-nun-in-training clinging to a naked alabaster david" I'll go spare.
I wish I had skipped the first and started right on the 2nd episode. If there ever is a chinese version of this I hope I'll remember this...
Up until now Jeremy was always my favourite character. And every single time I wished she'd take him. But just this once I'll think I am pro Huang tai qing.
I see where you are coming from. The whole cinderella story is underlying quite a lot of dramas :)
But really I always though that "Gold digger" refers to females who exclusively go for rich guys?!
In that case neither "Secret garden" nor "F4" falls into that category. They don't go for the male lead because he is rich/wealthy. The relationship is more or less forced upon them and they eventually fall for the guy.
Rather "Cheongdamdong Alice" would be a good example. She explicitly says that she want to enter high society...
imo the biggest villain is Kim Bong Goo from king2hearts
Agreed. He was good. At being evil that is XD He was several miles over the madness horizon and accelerating. He was right out there with Prince whatshisname from Faith.
Also Se Na & Tae Mu from Rooftop Prince.
Before starting this: I just saw the korean version and haven't seen a drama so bad in a while. >_> Sorry, even though the actors deserve some credit, the story was not very well developed, the characters were inconsistent and Oh Ha Ni was just getting on my nerves. The whole lovestory was so unbelievable and unrealistic. Is the j-version any better?
Loved K.Will's Please don't. But making it into a drama? I could totally see the melancholy-level rising. I keep my hopes up, for it to be a Happy Ending story, if it were ever turned into a drama. <br />It would have to be really well done to be convincing :) The actors would have to be outstanding as well. You are right Seo In Guk, was so believable in the MV *love*. But if it ever came out, I'd watch it.
So disappointing. I was looking forward to this drama. Everybody was talking about how this. But it really isn't gripping at all. After the background story I thought: okay if the next one isn't convincing I'll drop it. I thought maybe the main leads can turn this around. But they didn't. It's not bad acting, but this drama doesn't make me feel anything. Jang Ok Jung is the better historical drama at the moment.
I suppose ep3 will determine whether I'll put myself through 24 episodes of this... Totally unconvinced so far...
I really hope LSG is turning this around. I really liked him in King2Hearts but not that much in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho... So depending on his performance I'll decide. So far I found the acting disappointing.
HAHA :D Thanks this articles was necessary!
I am unsure as to why some producers find this portray of a woman desirable for their drama...
There is no problem with a cute and slightly naive girl (it's what you expect from i.e a girl brought up in a monastery) but these characters are severals miles over the common sense horizon and accelerating...
That would be such a waste!
