Normally i find myself rushing through binge watching but i love se ra and gong myung so much that i don't want to let them go so i am drawing out the episodes as long as i can stand. They are both just so SINCERE, and yes, sometimes their stubborness gets the better of them, but they always come back together with open hearts. Plus their chemistry is not only blazin but the moments where one is blatantly attracted to the other while the other is oblivious (like when se ra was like let's go to you-know-where and they cut to gong myung trying not to sulk that they went to the office to pore over documents) are both comedy gold and heart-string pulling. I really, really love this show.
I hope they don't give sujin a huge role, she's easily the most boring part of the webtoon. At this point, she could have never been in the webtoon and not much would change. Also, she's awful.
Huh, they gave jugyeong a younger sister instead of an older sister and younger brother. I wonder why they changed that plot point since her older sister is a fairly big supporting character in the webtoon.
Mind telling me where can I read the english one? Hehe
There's 93 episodes but webtoon does this dumb thing now for a lot of completed series where they only let you access one new episode a day, otherwise you have to pay to see them. If you like to binge and are patient enough, you can open 14 over 2 weeks and keep them to read all at once on the 14th day before the first one you unlocked expires.
Looks-wise, i think the actor who played wookyung in The World of My 17 would have been perfect.
I also wasn't expecting them to actually cast eunwoo for suho since he has played a similar quiet ML against an insecure FL in my id is gangam beauty, but the fervor was probably too big to turn down. Plus the webtoon author has drawn suho in outfits i've seen eunwoo wear, though i think suho isn't fully based on eunwoo, just partially since the author is talented enough that if she wanted suho to look exactly like eunwoo she would have drawn him that way. lol at the basketball star thing, i guess having suho be a handsome tri-lingual smartypants wasn't enough lol.
I also think jugyeong looks a LOT like park minyoung post-glow-up and aged back a few years, but she would need to be about 10 years younger to actually play jugyeong.
Goo Se Ra has to be one of the best written female characters I've ever seen in a kdrama, she can be cute and…
You are so right. A real character-driven drama that doesn't let the FL's flaws devolve into frustrating tropes for the sake of the romance. I hope the writer gets the chance to have more of their scripts produced.
I'm in the middle of the golf ball plot right now and this drama is so good at bringing comedy while also not trivializing or clownifying the struggle of regular not-rich people. It feels like it's being handled with the same care that parks & rec had for pawnee. A little outrageous, a little frustration at how big egos in small goverment seem to make the rules, while also allowing the 2 main leads to have flaws without overshadowing their sincerity. And that they seem to be falling for each other both willingly AND in spite of themselves is the perfect tension for these two strong-willed characters. And not to make it all about parks & rec but this golf ball storyline is giving me real "ben wyatt and leslie put on the kids show during the budget crisis" vibes. Aside from my near constant annoyance at parents in kdramas--and this drama is no exception--Into the Ring is just *chef's kiss*.
