On The Manipulated Nov 27, 2025
My vote for best car chase of the year, and I am someone who has sit through just about every action drama/ movie because apart from Interview with a Vampire my husbands taste rarely coincide with mine. The fight scenes are pretty good as well.

Title Why Is He Still Single? Spoiler
You're taking this too seriously. After 20 years of marriage, I still like to ask my husband a question while…
Its just not funny, its too normal to be funny. IME
I think its the idea that he not married because he his odd, when really he has a good job, and he is just self involved, so a pretty good catch. Some women would have snapped him up, and manipulated him in to seeing the advantages of a gofor, like is co worker is trying to do. My daughter is married to one, has no social graces, but she gets what ever she wants. In real life if the Dr wanted him she could run rings around him.
It makes me smile when a man thinks he is getting what he wants and not what his wife lets him have though enablement. Piss us off and life gets difficult.
I once met someone whose husband was autistic, and she was explaining why appeared abrupt, when I just thought he was pretty much in the normal range of British male directness.

I may not last to the end. Its just not funny enough for me, anyone who lives with a man knows that this is normal…
The only gag that has worked for me so far is the hat. My husband decided to grow a beard after being clean shaven all his life. He was so proud you would thought he had laid an egg.
I also do not get his taste in music light classics and ballet scores, he doesn't seem like a ballet bunny.,
The FL doctor, being involved in someone you knows medical care is just a no, you find someone else to do it. Prescribing drugs randomly to a patient without a full history is just a no, and a bigger no with no advice on side effects and arranging a follow up.
You talk to women who have been a relationship and most realise they are with someone who outside work has little understanding of anything outside what they are interested in and they delegate as much of real life as they can. My husband once gave me a bunch of flowers and didn't know they were fake. He is good at DIY, so he has his uses but he is obsessed by tools, like women collect handbags.

I may not last to the end. Its just not funny enough for me, anyone who lives with a man knows that this is normal male behaviour, being totally unaware of what the said and how the message comes across, able to focus mainly on things that interest them and live in their own world.

We’re on episode 13, but this drama hasn’t moved an inch from where it started lol or let’s say it’s only…
I am glad it's not only me.
It has so many good elements, and I am old enough to remember wearing terrible knit wear and being spoken to as if I was a small child. Can you really buy a car without your husband? I feel I could walk in to that office and smell cigs and cheap after shave,
The script is just so flat, and one paced, if I want to watch reality I can go down to the builders merchants and experience retro male work practices at first hand. So many men with so little charm or ability in one place.
I am not looking for a car chase, but I haven't got the anticipation for the next episode.
The acting is amazing, but it just hasn't seemed to have the episode structure of something like Misaeng: Incomplete Life, to hold my attention, which it is not a progression on.

Lets face it none of these men really act like real life men. At that age he would have beeing watching p!orn…
I think its because of inversion.
They take a story that if you look at some C dramas still seems popular that the young innocent girl, who seems always to act like a child, who is being chased by suitors, there always has to be a bit of a user, and the earnest but faithful one 'saves' her.
I think it's just lack of the ability to think of an original safe plot that has some basis in the real world, so they use one that was past it's sell by date forty years ago.
I am sort of addicted to old C drama clips they put on Youtube, and I think some of the writers must be mining them as well. So far they do not use the cheating boyfriend/ husband because that would spoil the whole sanitised trope of this genre,
I just find it amusing because it's so retro, I hope most teenagers are aware it just fantasy. I do wonder who the target audience is for this particular one is.

Why is there always a young guy in Korean dramas who stutters and talks like a 5-year-old? I don’t understand…
Lets face it none of these men really act like real life men. At that age he would have beeing watching p!orn on his phone for years and the other two would have a string of exes and hangers on.
The the K filter of adult content and real life male behaviour.

I know this is bad but good because I am frigging annoyed.
How dumb can someone be, has he got special educational needs or just no watched enough c or k drama to see when he is being manipulated. What parent sends their child in to the world without preparing them with the basic of tools of how to avoid being someone's hors d'oeuvre. And WTF why are two of them even bothered?
Is it like wanting to put a footprint on fresh snow, I was here, because he has the personality of a plant. He is not exactly entertaining. Its total trash, but addictive.
On Would You Marry Me? Nov 17, 2025
Scraping in at 7.5, mainly a score for the production values, I think I am being generous.
I was like a large expensive firework that , went phut, and then died.
Good basic story idea that was wasted with too many tropes, so tired they could hardly get out of bed, and never did any work, because they were just put in to pad the plot.
The last three episodes could have been cut but that would have meant losing all the pathetic plot 'twists', which were not, You could almost plot out the whole script from ep 4 or at least play trope bingo.
I think the worst sin was having good actors, no great actors being completely wasted on this sh!t, the script was so dire. I always hope that they get paid well , or its there is a good script but you penance is....
God save us from the next plot where the leads met as children and then become linked , its so done.

And I think she is brilliant.
She can play anything from a room come to the manipulative villain.
It helps that she has an expressive face and seems to be interested in taking roles where perhaps she morally grey character. She seems happy to not look like she has a lot of white out on her face.
I hope she getting a good deal from Netflix.

Well done the writers for pulling off the amnesia plot being less clunky than most.
They say that part of amnesia is trying to forget trauma. like a time out for the brain, so you can internally process it. Lets hope the writers can merge the old and the new well in the last ep.

I don’t really know how to say this, but this series is done pretty weirdly (._.)Mind you, I absolutely love…
Yes, I think it could have gone to 12eps and filled it nicely.

I'm glad most people aren't biased against cute and effeminate males, it's really nice seeing portrayals of all…
It only works so far. The big money is looking for shows that portray real relationships, that the story is the hook not someone sexuality or a romance, these appeal to a wider audience and make more money.
I think the genre is on its way to split, the cheap straight to Youtube, vertical drama, that are mainly aimed a teens, and the more complicated plots like Mandate, or Shine that lots of viewers will pay for, and they can sell at a premium to streamers.
We have just finished An Interview With a Vampire, the most toxic gay love/hate story, but its also a story about what it means to be a vampire, and how you survive a changing world, made with a huge budget and seasoned actors. My husband who likes action drama watched it because the toxic story was great tv, and the acting amazing.
On I'm the Most Beautiful Count Nov 6, 2025
I managed to finish it although I had completely lost interest.
What started off as amusing just ended up as a series of scenes which no real emotional heart. It just wasn't funny enough for even comedy drama, although at the start it had some very good one liners. Some of the characters were just there to fill gaps. I know we need supporting characters that hopefully move the story along but some were just literally filling space, not adding depth which could make a fantastical plot real.
I watch of things that are probably critically a load of rubbish, but there two things that draw me in, you imagine what characters are feeling or no matter how flawed or obnoxious they are, they are interesting, it did neither for me.

that is why the kid's mom was some flukey and he is a single dad... who said he has experience with women or is…
I often think that because now writing is seen as a career and they go from colleges straight in to something creative, there is now a huge gap between how most people really live and what writers have experienced.
They say write what you know, well they now have to make that gap in life experience with research and that is extra time and cost. Its easier to turn out generic ideas, and often its seems they have been to the same seminar and picked up the same ideas.

I live in an area that is very mixed, at one side there are the great educational institutions, and all the tech money it attracts. Then you have rural areas which tend to have more social and drug problems that you are aware of because it's cheaper to live and easier to hide.
The only difference perhaps between the two is the people with more money and more educational gloss are a lot better at working the system and social expectation to cover up their mistakes or crimes.

I live is the UK so I find themes in C&K in some aspects relatable, social class and the power that money give you. The main difference is perhaps in general we do not like being told what to do and a how to live, so being non conformist and bloody minded is a core trait. Hence we love swear words and use them frequently.

that is why the kid's mom was some flukey and he is a single dad... who said he has experience with women or is…
Lots of fathers do care very much about their children, the fathers I meet are often very involved in child care and even if they are not involved in daily care they are often do things with them at the weekend Where live its very much normal for dads to take the children to the supermarket, play sport or just to take toddler out in the push chair.

My own father would make me toys and take me all over, he taughtme to knit and to sew Just because you have seen bad male parenting, it doesn't mean that all men are like that. This is my experience.

I have also seen mothers who see their children as extensions of their life style but fortunately most are just wanting the best for their children. I worked in a school for a while, I have looked after sick children so I have met all sorts of parents, as well as all ages of children.
I have also seen the results of abuse and neglect first hand, so I am aware of what parents and people who are supposed to care for them are capable of.

The ML having a child IMO is just a plot device, it's just a marker to show he is a good person, someone who is thoughtful. The fact that he has a failed relationship is about the only thing we know about him, but when they have the fight he obviously for the plot knows how to fight well. So has he got a hidden past?
An alternative is he was a bad boy, got mixed up with the wrong crowd and wrong women and went to the country to build another life, redeem himself by looking after his child and become another person, Another trope.

That is the problem is script has so many holes, some of it deliberate so they can keep twisting the plot to set up the next set piece.
The only character that is completely consistent is the villain and that
has become a complete caricature, who basically has two expressions mean and extra mean.

that is why the kid's mom was some flukey and he is a single dad... who said he has experience with women or is…
I think any man who has children and is involved in their care ends up protective of their child/s welfare , if he can run a business that growing plants, he knows that living things have to be fed, watered and protected to survive.
The reason why this is completely unbelievable is that the child who has been already abandoned by one parent seems to accept and the father seem to expect that he can be left with anyone with no emotional issues. He has already wandered off once and his dad panicked. The child is just a plot device and it shows.

The idea that he sees her as 'his women', someone he doesn't really know, if we are to take it seriously, is delusional. She has not been truthful about who she is or what she is, and her mother is another minus, because would you really want your child to be in contact with someone like that in any way?

Things like a car chase in a 4x4, where you know the landscape and you do not take it off road but instead have a standing fight where you are out numbered is standard drama nonsense, The 'gun fight' and the idea you can just wrap someone hand around a gun to cover up who used it is just not now technically possible, but that's another drama trope.

It started out as a good premise but it has descended in to jigsaw of ideas with
no real coherence.

I can not make head nor tail of it, there seems to be two versions of the story, one that made some sort of sense and the version that I am watching that is nothing like the synopsis of the plot.

Title That Summer
An unlikely premise, straight out of some trope ridden C drama, but it has that feel of reality. The detail put in the sets, the setting and costume all beautifully shot so everything looks it best but not filtered, and the lack of white faced make up so you can see emotion with subtlety how ever fleeting that is. With a great OST as a bonus.
What ever you think of the plot, I hope they thought about a less trope ending, its really well done.
