Okay, I see, thank you.. I still saw some of his posts with his wife on social media. I also wished the drama had subs, the drama looks like it's good, but I'm not surprised since Taiwanese dramas rarely get subbed or none at all. :(
Nicely done! The 1st time I watched this drama was way back 2013 during my college days, it was locally aired here in Philippines and dubbed in Filipino. Now, after 9 years, I rewatched it this year 2022. The difference is, when I watched it before, there's too many cut scenes in free TV, unlike now that I watched the full episodes with English subtitles online.
I haven't watched the original Korean version yet. I must say 'Fabulous Boys' really did a great job! The cast were all suitable with their roles. Lyan Su (the actress who plays as Mei Nan / Mei Nu) and her acting, being a newbie in that time, was not bad. Evan Yo is a great Cpop singer, I liked his acting as Jeremy, so as the other actors. I even did not know about the drama that it was a Taiwanese remake years after I watched it. It would be called a remake because the story was derived from the original Korean drama, but you cannot really tell the 1st time you will watch 'Fabulous Boys', it was a funny, sweet boyband rom-com you will like for sure!
"Fabulous" drama! I easily get swayed by the characters' emotions. The scenes made me laugh, smile, cry. I liked the entire cast; their acting was stellar. Danson Tang has always been funny in his roles. I remembered watching him in a gay role in "Hana Kimi"; after seeing him in "Fabulous 30" as a romantic yet goofy guy, he makes me impressed more in his acting. Everyone played their characters very well. The apartments they lived were cozy and beautiful, I dreamed of owning & living in a real one. I think all ages can relate to the characters, it's just the main characters were aged 29-31 years old. Zhi Qin & De Hua taught me to cherish life with my loved ones. Wan Ting & Wei Zhong taught me to be myself, authentic and real. Wen Qi & Zhi Yuan taught me to be mature in handling marriage and family matters. I enjoyed the friendship, romance & life values taught by this light-hearted drama.
A well-done article, interesting good to know information! I also did researched older Chinese dramas before year 2000, and I noticed most of them were either fantasy or historical themed. They began to air modern dramas after the success of 'Meteor Garden' during the 2000s decade. My 1st Chinese drama was "Chinese Paladin"; it was awesome!
I'm glad Viki put English subtitles to this drama, thank you very much to the subbing team! I remembered watching this randomly a long time ago without subtitles. I feel grateful now that I rewatched it and understood the plot.
It shows a moving and heartwarming story about the Wu family: a grandpa who was a former gangster boss living in a nursing home; his son who fell in love with a man; & a grandson who's studying in high school. The grandpa endured a sickness while handling his family's situation after knowing about his son's affair and also his grandson who almost got into trouble with some gangster. It shows the reality, especially issues about family, acceptance, the meaning of life & having happiness. Worth a watch!
It's been a long time since I've read a fashion article here in MDL, I felt excited to check on this! The outfits are so chic & kawaii, I love Japanese fashion and dramas as well, thanks a lot for making this, your efforts were very much appreciated! ❤
