Alchemy of Souls season 2 honestly feels like a slap in the face after how incredible season 1 was.

Season 1 had actual soul: chemistry, the pacing, the emotions, everything. Jung so-min absolutely carried the show as mudeok. Her acting was sharp, layered, and so natural that every scene felt alive. Season 2, on the other hand, completely fell flat. Go Youn-jungs acting was painfully bland, she was constantly trying to be cute instead of bringing any real depth, it made the character feel empty. It didn't help at all that we were robbed of the badass, ruthless Naksu we fell in love with. Also don't even get me started on how long it took jang uk to realize buyeon was mudeok. It was soo dragged that all the emotional payoff was gone by the time it happened. The plot was messy, slow, and lacked the spark that made season 1 unforgettable. And i genuinely dont see where the "amazing chemistry" everyone talks about is, although Go youn jung and Lee jae wook were closer in age, they were as stiff and awkward as ever. Season 1 was so good that it genuinely has me wondering what happened to the writers when they were writing s2, did they get amnesia like naksu did and forgot how to write a good story?

I will forever grieve the amazing season that s2 could've been.
