Pete gave a source of comfort that Vegas never received or expected. The way Vegas fell hard for Pete, you can see this was a new experience of feelings.
The way he was swooning over Pete as they lay on the bed. Cooking whilst smiling. Begging him to stay, waiting for him to return and then contact Porsche just so he can see him again.
Pete was actually intrigued by Vegas and saw his vulnerability. He started to see Vegas a little differently and well got attracted to him. Vegas is good looking so that helped too lol.
