Current Status (April 2026):

Besides slowly watching a few J-Dramas, K-Dramas and even more fewer Chinese dramas, I thought that I should dabble in a few other shows.

I recently watched the following:-

1.) The Chestnut Man - I watched it in Danish and it was fantastic and season 2 is coming over to Netflix in just over a week.
2.) Dept Q - A British show based on a Danish novel series, bloody brilliant show and this is also getting a season 2, I hope it comes out soon.
3.) Broadchurch - I just finished watching all 3 seasons on Netflix, I'm from England and knew about how good the series is and just always thought I'll get to it eventually and it been more than a decade since it finished. Season 1 was fantastic, Season 2 was pretty much a courtroom drama and season 3 was good but I also think it struggled a bit, I felt like the writing wasn't as good as the first season despite the shock value. DS Miller's personality change is so drastic but very understandable.

I'm now wondering what to watch now.

Update from 2025:

Just watching and low-key not enjoying much that is being pushed out by K-Dramaland but I am indulging myself with Japanese dramas.

Right now I'm abolsutely loving "Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle?" (Kujaku no Dance, Dare ga Mita?) on Netflix, can not understand the MDL rating but it's always been like that when it comes to Japanese dramas.

Just found out my boy Taichi won in the end in Chihayafuru, I haven't read the manga in so long, I just checked I haven't read it in 12 years (I was up to date with it back in 2013).

One more week for season 2 of Gannibal.

I'd also like to say that I typically do not add Korean, Japanese or other Asian movies to my MDL list as I have watched way too much to count, trying my best to keep my list drama-only, I have added a few in the past though and not bothered about removing them.

Backstory:

I started off as someone who was reading a lot of manga and watching an awful amount of anime. At some point in 2007, I started watching live-actions doramas and it lasted up until around late 2008...I suddenly lost my Dorama-Groove whilst half-way watching Maou (I watched Mawang/The Devil before it) as it was airing.

I still continued to watch anime, indulge in manga and gaming but I didn't get round to watching doramas. I did watch a massive amount of American TV shows though, some were good but most of them seemed lacking, they were simply not fulfilling but life went by.

December 2015, I just felt an itch to watch something different as most of the American TV shows I was following were going on their "winter break" and the fact that I don't watch as much anime as I once did besides one or two which was in my case One Punch Man and Haikyuu!! Season 2. I decided to watch a Japanese drama, I wanted it to be fairly recent and had good reviews and it ended up being Ouroboros. The show was good and it re-ignited my hunger for more, I chose Liar Game Season 2, I had watched the original Liar Game when I had gone to University for the first time and was very fond of the franchise.

My little sister recommended me to watch "My Love from the Stars", a South-Korean drama that goes by quite a few names and it was a real joy to watch. Right after that I picked "She was Pretty" and I'm so glad I watched it, I liked everything about it despite a few things but I loved the main actress, Hwang Jung Eum, the most.

Right after finishing She was pretty, I had a sudden urge to talk to fellow or get advice and recommendations from people who love watching dramas and so that's why I signed up here. The funny thing is that I swear I joined this website like 8 years ago (2008) with this username but I couldn't find it here, so I made a brand new account to start fresh.

As I was writing I'd started watching "Kill Me, Heal Me", mainly because Hwang Jung Eum is the main actress in it. I absolutely love her acting, the expressions she does are just awesome.
