I fully agree that dramas which end with a cliffhanger or have an open ending stay in your mind longer. In fact I tend to forget dramas with happy endings rather quickly and while I do not like sad endings, at least when it comes to historicals I find open endings the most memorable.
I know if the story was real they‘d be dead by now (since they take place in ancient times) so I don’t need everything to be resolved in order to know that at some point, after the drama ended the story must have continued. ~ maybe that’s just wishful thinking ^^
In ep11 Song Yang & Momo‘s scenes seem to be cut short 🤔 anyone else noticed that? First when they ran into each other at the restaurant, she left and he went after her but never got to see what happened next. And then again a little later at the theatre building. But tbh I cannot imagine that this will actually turn into romance. Hmmm
Aww I was so happy to read she’s dating her Love Unexpected co-star Kris Fan, only to find out they were spotted together one time, never confirmed it and then were never seen together again 😭… her bio here makes it seem they‘re a couple 🫡
this drama is what happens when you force a relationship. yk sometimes when we start a cdrama we wish that the couple gets together asap, but at that point the relationship is still underdeveloped - in the case of this drama they actually get together (and marry) at an early point where it's still just a one sided love... I will never again complain against slow-burn romance :D
Can someone please tell why the FL starts going back out with her Ex and doesnt stay with SML have i missed something?…
She's not his biological sister, but they were together in the same orphanage :) And FL and SML didn't break up because of ML. The monologues of each character explained how they ended up like that over a long period of time. It wasn't just one thing but it boils down to Guan Xin "secret" identity. He couldn't fully be himself around her as he kept up a façade, and although he tried to build a new life with her, he was the one who kept seeking out Lu Xi and his past. FL only got together with ML a year after having broken up with SML.
TBH I think SML's identity would not have been an issue for FL but he was ashamed of that part of himself (due to the guilty feelings towards Lu Xi). The car monologue near the end made me finally understand him and also why they didn't work out.
They’re like "your betrothed is in a brothel" and she goes " a brothel? 😍😍"
Edit: the first half was really-really funny! How the princes try not to become the next emperor made me laugh a lot 😂
