i have to say i wish this was a regular rom com. the leads are a really nice pair, visually and they both have a lot of “aegyo” or whatever when they do romcoms so it wouldve been a fun dynamic. plus woojin is a comedy master. unfortunately apocalypse thriller dramas are a trend in sk right now so were really missing out.
i feel so bad for producer ji. this truly feels like a case of right person wrong time. although i do think he shouldnt have been so scared to tell her, that unsureness and fear is what caused regret for 14 years, and maybe the rest of his life. life lesson: its better to fail than never try.
Someone from dramacool commented this and many hv similar sentiment and i agree"She's NOT okay. She's already…
my friends and i act that way around each other and we understand thats its platonic. hong was right, men and women can be friends if they can get past the”biological issues”. and if he says he is just being nice (which he clearly is since hes like that to everyone) he isn’t at fault for her feelings. she has been told its platonic, so she should keep that in her mind. i understand she isnt used to it, after all she has one friend and its a girl, but plenty of men and women DO have friendships like that. obviously we know this is meant to be a romance but I just wanted to point that out.
I think u are being a bit harsh everything she has ever done had a reason behind and she apologized when she discovered…
like i said, she was upset before the gossiping because the town didnt meet her standards. shes super classist and judgmental towards everyone, whether on their age or goals or how they live. she does nice things sometimes but her mindset hasnt changed, thats whats horrible.
I don't understand the reason for the flashback @ the end of ep6. They already met at the beach by chance when…
i totally agree, i hate when dramas lay the past fate trope on super thick. like when they were kids, sure. as teens? come on. they cant even tie it into the story because they didnt interact, so whats the point of showing it??
i love everything about this show, but its insane how hyejins mindset is so horrible. like besides how judgmental she is, she sucks the fun out of EVERYTHING. at this point i dont see how she can still hate everything about gongjin when its such a lovely environment and everyone tries to be nice despite her attitude. id get it if it was the gossiping, but she hated it from the beginning. plus she lets her feelings for a guy dictate her entire mood and behavior. everyones having fun at a get together or party and shes sulking because "theyre not good enough" or hong is doing exactly what she asked and giving her space. we better see LOTS of character development.
although the cast, script, and cinematography is fantastic, the actual genre is whats setting this drama back. it reminds me of how strong girl do bong soon tried to be too many things at once. here, i do think the shifts in mood are done fairly well, but its incredibly difficult to have a romcom/slice of life/ murder mystery/ crime all smushed into one show. i think vincenzo is one of the few that got it right, but they chose to mainly focus on ONE: crime/mystery.
so far, it feels like you are my spring is trying to split everything evenly and its starting to feel like a bit too much and not enough. it might’ve been better to make this a slice of life romcom with a dash of mystery as opposed to the full on crime aspect they have going on.
oh soo jae is between a college student and a young professor at least. we can imagine them to have a smaller…
the age gap in real life doesnt matter but portraying a large age gap in a show and romanticizing it matters. the synopsis says high schooler, so thats what i assumed. love doesnt conquer all, not when its between a child and an adult.
This drama seems extremely controversial and that's the point, I usually avoid teacher/student relationship drama…
dramas like this romanticize abusive/ inappropriate relationships and people eat it up because the leads are good looking or whatever. it’s ridiculous and it can easily made more appropriate by at LEAST making him a college student and having a young professor, like why oh soo jae is doing.
Don't be a hypocrite, y'all are saying that you despise teacher/student relationships but some of you can't really…
oh soo jae is between a college student and a young professor at least. we can imagine them to have a smaller age gap since older college students and younger professors exist. a high schooler (14-18) and a teacher thats clearly much older ?? thats a nasty relationship in any context. they couldve easily made it in a college setting as well and people would care less.
a few minutes into the first episode and its not bad, just an average dont-think-too-much-about-it kinda show. the acting isnt great which is fine i guess. i wasnt aware it was going to be sitcom style, which i like, but they keep inserting laughs where no jokes have been made? they also immediately dropped a joke about africa as soon as hyunmin came on screen followed by toilet humor. i hope the rest of shows ""humor" wont be so superficial and playing into stereotypes. not sure what to expect but i do hope the characters dont stay 2d and theres some depth in the friendships and overall script instead of just trying to be quirky and relatable by inserting "hey thats sexist" randomly into the dialogue.
the cast is incredible and there should be great chemistry since a lot of them have filmed together before, so i really hope the writing and directing is good as well. this could either be really really good or really really bad
Not a fan of the cast but I will watch first few episodes. Many dramas turned out to be disappointing this year.…
i totally agree that this is an old concept. im pretty sure this was actually supposed to be released a few years ago and i think this wouldve done better then. we are definitely past cliche plots like these and now have highly developed dramas like vincenzo, flower of evil, taxi driver ect that think outside of the box. thats why dramas like oh my ladylord that have 2014-2018 type plots arent being received well in 2021. its unfortunate but this drama should have been released 3 years ago when it was filmed, now it will pale in comparison to the incredible dramas currently airing.
See the genre of the show... There is literally no romance b/w the magician and the girl... There is no romance…
notice how i said im not sure if it has romance, if it doesnt thats great. and its not necessary for her to be a highschooler, all the synopsis says is that shes poor so she can easily be a poor college student.
what bothers me is the yet again unnecessary age difference between leads. the FL is set to be a highschool student while the ML is at LEAST in his late 20s just according to JCWs age. we already had an offputting age gap in goblin, theres no reason for it to be done over and over again. it wouldnt change the plot in any way if the FL was a struggling ADULT college student . im not sure if this drama has any romance at all but if it does i hope she ends up with the SML who will be another highschool student and the older ML will simply be a mentor. im tired of having to justify why dramas depict a highschooler in a relationship with any man above her age.
it’s unfortunate that kim woo bin and shin min ah wont be paired up, i think it would’ve been the first time an openly dating couple would act together as a couple. im also wondering how they feel about acting as a couple with someone else in front of each other? nonetheless im excited to see them act together!
