This, precisely! Many dramas are written by women or for women. Which is why we often see the PERFECT guy (either rich, super nice, super capable, etc) while the female lead is very average, normal, next-door-neighbor kind of person + has many flaws.
It's so that viewers (predominantly female) can see themselves as the FL or relate to her, get super invested, emotionally "live through the FL".

Yeah, I'm about to just skip all her scenes from here on out. I don't like her manipulative behavior - the crying, going to main FL and asking her to draw the line, her repetitive confessions, not respecting boundaries that he sets with her, etc.
2nd FL says what's important to her is Jae Hoon's heart - yet she doesn't want to accept that Jae Hoon loves the FL, not her. It's so hypocritical. She doesn't truly love Jae Hoon. If she did, she would let him follow his heart.

She was treated more like how she deserves to be treated when she went on dates with other people. After HeeDoo, anyone would look like a great alternative.
Maybe she was strung up on staying together with HeeDoo cause of all their years together. She is always the one apologizing, saying she'll do better, while HeeDoo never says he was wrong. NY agrees they both need to change, but HeeDoo things only NaYeon needs to change rofl !
HeeDoo and JiYeon match very well. Visually, too. Their personalities suit each other. JY can lift HD's spirits. HD finds JY cute and is always smiling around her. Both are self-oriented, maybe mbti "T" personalities.

It's clear that's how he treats NaYeon – harshly criticizing and scolding her, even when other people are around.
It was sad to see her self-confidence about reading Navi/GPS so low that she thought she is trash at it. GyuMin complimented her, and unknowingly consoled her.
I'm glad HeeDoo and JiYeon are hitting it off. They truly deserve one another :)

Question: Why is Hee Doo telling Na Yeon that he cried? It onlu confuses her..Hee Doo is all smiles with Ji Yeon while when he is with Na Yeon, he remains stoic and sighs alot. Is he afraid to fall for Ji Yeon? Is he feeling like he cant let go of Na Yeon? x_X
For Na Yeon's sake, I can only hope he picks Ji Yeon!
~ I felt so bad for Na Yeon. It was shocking to hear Hee Doo snap at Na Yeon as if she's a toddler getting into mischief. It took me by surprise. He treats her coldly, and as though all their troubles are all her fault. She was hurt so many times by his words.
~ Hae Eun was kind of cold towards Gyu Min! She says it was out of playfulness, then she eventually acknowledged she acted that way in part due to her upset feelings regarding NY&GM dating.
~ Hae Eun and Hyun Gyu are so sweet together! It was heart warming to see him say just the right things to her. He doesn't pressure her. He doesn't gaslight her.
~ Ji Yeon and Hee Doo deserve each other. I hope they pick each other. Their personalities are suited for each other.
~ Na Yeon deserves better. Not necessarily Gyu Min, but she can also meet someone outside of this program who will treat her with the respect she deserves. Someone who will love her for who she is.
~ Gyu Min showed a new side of himself today. It was sad how their X Date ended, but it's hard to see past his dishonesty, mismatching statements (behavior and speech with everyone vs interview answers), and gaslighting episode. I don't doubt that he was good to Hae Eun while they dated. They truly loved one another, and their past photos/videos show how happy they were. However, the present is more important.
~ Every scene with Ji Yeon, I ended up having to turn down audio & read the captions. Her voice has a lot of energy. Very extroverted character with vibrant speech pattern lol. She's still young (20-21) so maybe she will (1) learn to respect others, including speaking in formal language to older people - which even kids in Korea know how to do, and (2) learn to respect people's boundaries.
~ Taeii looked so out of energy on his X Date; both Ji Yeon and Taeii wanted to go home quickly.
~ It was hilariously cute when both Na Eon and Hyun Gyu were like "YAY! Date with HaeEun/Taeii" lol
~ Preview for Ep 20! Ahh! I thought today was final talk and final date... yet the preview shows more conversations! O_O
