I'm not sure why he got all twitterpated (side effect of the dream thing? did he fall in love with her?). I sort…
She committed suicide after, cursing the royal family and its people. But then the drama lost me. What happened to the curse? Is she now just someone who needs to redeem herself otherwise she goes to hell?
I watched both episodes but the first part of the series doesn't fit with the latter. @__@ *lost*
i preferred the literal title of the drama to the english version. 'soul mechanic/repairman' just sounds more…
I couldn't agree more!
I will never call it "Fix You" - it reminds me of Coldplay's song: Fix You.
Soul Repairer, Soul Healer, Soul Mechanic are much better titles.
kisskh seems to choose the more bizarre, uncommonly used titles. Much like how MDL stubbornly uses the title "Meow, the Secret Boy" for "어서와" (direct translation: Welcome). Even Google pulls up the K-drama information as "Welcome"! The meaning of the title "Welcome" is shown on the series with how ML greets FL home with a "Welcome home" greeting. Who makes these title decisions?!
Sorry for my mini rant :( It happened one too many times during my visit on MDL
I guess Madame Noh Was switched with her Doppelgänger from republic of Korea. Didn't Lee Lim show that he infiltrated…
Fingers crossed for this also. Jealousy and envy can make people make bad decisions. I hope she chooses not to be selfish.. they keep showing her bragging about how she worked hard to rise to the top. It appears she wants to marry the king now. Her love for Yi Gon looks ambition or power based, not love..
I totally understand what you mean... that's exactly the why I felt However when you consider what the FL said…
Yeah, time stopped (evil dude crossing worlds) and he left during that time. He told her that if he ever vanished, he did not vanish but simply walked away while time stood still. She cries at his sudden departure :(
Yi Gon probably went after Lee Lim ASAP.
Kim Go Eun is a great actress; if Yi Gon and Tae Eul’s romance were more believable, I would feel sad but I’m emotionally disconnected from their relationship. I’m more invested in other characters. The romance in this drama is like the romance in Memories of Alhambra. Love is a motivator to the ML but.. it is hard to be invested in their love line. How about you? Do you find their relationship convincing?
It looks like her son took time for himself to sort through his thoughts and feelings. I’m happy that they showed him return to Sunwoo at the end.
And as much as I don’t like Taeoh, I’m glad the trucker stopped in time. Innocent truck driver was almost going to court for involuntary manslaughter! Taeoh’s death would have also distance Sunwoo and her son’s relationship.
Sunwoo and her son are strong and will move forward with their lives.
Thank you everyone for commenting here. I only made it through this drama cause of you all lol
I dropped this but I find myself watching all the new episodes. >.> I think I like the lightheartedness, sweet, and comedic story. Helps keep my mind off of IRL stresses (i.e. COVID-19).
Honestly phrases like real mom bother me a lot, why is Min Jung any less of a real mom than Yuri only because…
Maybe meant 'real mom' as Biological mom. Stepmoms are real moms too. Minjung did raise Seowoo. Like her own child, I'm not so sure. I would like to believe so.
Korean viewers expressed their frustration at the writer of Hi Bye Mama. They say that Minjung's character towards the beginning of the film were completely re-written in later episodes.
In earlier episodes, Minjung was rather uncaring. She: - Sent Seowoo on 학원뺑뻉이 (continuous merry-go-round of Hakwons - educational academies, lessons, or daycare) from morning to night. - Consulted divorce attorneys. Minjung brought Seowoo with her to their offices, and asked Seowoo to keep it a secret. - Doesn't actively engage with Seowoo while playing together. Minjung is often shown sitting next to Seowoo or watching from a distance, rather than making conversation or trying to make things fun for Seowoo. Comparison is clear with Yoori's efforts - both when she was a ghost and as a babysitter. - Used T.V. to keep Seowoo entertained. - Rejected Seowoo's offer of jelly candy, explaining that Minjung didn't like it. Some netizens question what parent would nonchalantly reject their child like that.
This all changed abruptly. Korean viewers say that the writer must've had a change of heart and wanted to paint Minjung as a kind-hearted, caring, and loving step-mother. They say that there is a distracting "disconnect" between how Minjung was portrayed at the beginnning of the drama, compared to recent episodes. We see her: - Crying, heartbroken, when Seowoo is missing. Minjung angrily yells at Yoori. - Crying to Ganghwa asking whether or not she is really Seowoo's mom. - Playing with Seowoo. She is actually sitting next to her this time and making conversation.
I felt the disconnect too. :\ I still enjoy the series and hope for a happy ending for everyone: Minjung, Yoori, Ganghwa, and Yoori's family and friends. I just don't know how the writer will pull it off...
I do feel that foreign viewers empathize with Minjung a lot more (and forgive the writer for these disconnects). Korean comments on YouTube are in sharp contrast with foreign viewers.
How? Like do u know how much water that came out of my eyes like ?? it was too much
Wondering the same thing. I hated her in Stairway to Heaven (her character's name was also Yuri there)! Not because of her acting, but because of her character - Yuri. (Yuri was antagonist in that drama). Now she's back in Hi Bye, Mama as Yuri (again). And this time, I love her character here! It's funny how I've first seen her act as a character named Yuri, and she's acting as Yuri again (same name, different characters, different dramas). :D She looks the same, honestly. Hasn't aged a day!
It becomes way too episodic, filled with one too many arcs. Shorter series are most memorable and interesting.

"Fix You" is gross.
That's a horrifying sentiment.
Luckily we have a legal system in place (though no system is perfect) - murder is not the answer.
