just finished all episodes and i felt like something inside me is healed!!!!!!!!!! 10/10 drama for me. im so sad…
yes this is literally my top 5 cdramas I think! I always rewatch. I watched it not long after it came out for Jingyi because I always love the female characters she chooses but through this I found Lu Yixiao who has become one of my favorite actresses and I have loved all of her dramas since. Its been so fun seeing her become so big the past year because I know her as the sweet Shao Yao. But literally I love everything about this drama I wish it wasnt so underrated.
Sometimes it really gets me how long it takes for cdramas to be released. Like looking at the pictures they were filming this in September 2023 and it didnt release till june 2025 almost 2 years later. Like they started filming this when when i fly towards you was just released😭😭
Is Wang Ying Lu dubbed? I didnt think so but she sounds so different but probably just because of the difference and seriousness in character compared to the other dramas i watched with her. It's amazing how different her characters in yummy yummy/when destiny brings the demon compared to twelve letters like if I didnt know it was her I wouldve thought it was a different actress. she's so talented.
The cinematography is good I mean it is a pretty drama but I think the editing is still consistently bad. I'm…
While Bao Sheng En is not very well known and Yiran was maybe not as big as he is today at the time this was filmed I believe the double was already out and Yiran had already filmed much higher quality dramas like reborn and twelve letters. So I dont think he would've settled for a messy script at the time which is why i really think the editing mustve messed with the story but i could be wrong that is literally just me trusting Zhou Yirans recent dramas😭💀
But then again its not that serious to me I know some people are dropping it which is understandable. I probably am just going to skim through episodes until the full drama is out bcus I dont exactly trust this drama to let myself get fully invested but I do still want to see how it turns out
The cinematography is good I mean it is a pretty drama but I think the editing is still consistently bad. I'm confused on what and why exactly it ended up like this. There seems to be crazy jump cuts with little to no transition or connection between scenes editing wise and honestly it feels like they didn't know what order to place the scenes or how best to present what they were given. And there are multiple scenes where we cut unnaturally to one scene right into dialogue as actors are moving when its clear there was more said or happening before what we are shown as the start of the scene. Its like they cut off the first 10 seconds of the scene.
I'm sure they had more scenes filmed and the ability to make it not so choppy but the post production team made bad decisions on what to sacrifice. Maybe I'm crazy but I do see people commenting this every once and a while and as someone who has knows a bit about editing this feels so odd for a drama with a seemingly decent budget.
How did Zhou yiran get to be first billed? If he’s only going to appear in the first 2 minutes and last 30 seconds…
I think its just cus the leads are seperated rn so theyre focusing more on fl's storyline tho im sure he will have more screen time later. It's not even half way through the drama yet and i think some dramas like these do have pretty unequal screen time.
Still I wish there was more of him honestly I'm getting tired of the fl's side it all just feels like we're just waiting for them to reunite and work together and it feels kind of pointless rn imo.
i love them so much but i need to force myself to wait to finish this till all episodes are out😭i wont be able to handle seeing them depressed or having episodes of fighting
I'm on ep 9 this whole thing with the girls in that tavern and all these high ranking officials being exposed for abusing them but having little consequence remind me so much of the epstein files😭
Anyone know the web novel and know if this drama will have a major break up or time skip? I feel like a lot of marriage of convenience tropes at some point have a major conflict point. I just want a drama where theres no separation/break up for once where i dont have to be anxious watching while the leads are happily together😭😔
I heard this is pretty toxic and have seen some rough clips from this so im going to pretend this season doesnt exist!😃you know sometimes its ok to just end a series on a happy note not everything needs a second season😭if i watch this it would probably ruin season 1 for me which already had enough of its own problems. like i get this is wattpad but still....
Yiran looks so different in the poster to me for some reason when i started it i almost didnt realize it was his drama esp with his hair and bandage covering his face😭😭
anyways i know everyone is going to be here for the ml but i gotta say im liking the fl too. I've never watched any of her dramas before but so far i really like her i hope she doesnt get overlooked. I saw someone saying how she rarely gets any cool aesthetic shots compared to him which im sure is part of her not being as big as he is rn.
I really like the leads relationship so far and how both leads are smart and know martial arts but i already feel like i need to prepare for a big fight that separates them cus everytime I watch a wuxia there is rarely a long period of peace between the leads😭😭especially since ml is keeping secrets. I'm going to wait till this drama ends to continue watching cus i make it a rule not to watch a wuxia without knowing the ending cus im someone who likes these dramas but needs to be mentally prepared for whats coming💀
You know sometimes I just wish we could have a fantasy drama without the constant backstabbing and misunderstandings or a revenge drama where the leads just stay consistent allies throughout but oh well.
