I think they did read the criticisms so far, so I hope they toned down the bright filter. imo the filter really ruined some scenery especially on outdoor scenes. I like the filter on TLB because it looked movie-like. The battle sea scene was ruined because of the filter😌

it’s normal, circle of A-listers acting together. Believe me, Liu Yuning will be one of A-lister actors once his drama as main male lead, Prisoner of Beauty is out. The production of it looks top notch from the trailer. I have no doubt he and Song Zuer will blow up even more.

I have a question, what budget is this drama? It didn’t scream S+ budget to me. I was on ep1 and the filters they used was too bright it hurts my eyes. Why are they giving this cheap vibe production to such A-listers drama of Reba & Gong Jun😭
ep1 gave me these iqiyi cheap drama vibe, no offense. Youku did it worst.
I have looked forward to this drama for a long time and ep1 was so fast-paced it’s like going through slide history of their life. I still will watch this till the end for Reba but I will be honest, I expected the production to be like The Long Ballad. Reba, I’m watching this for you and you only😌

I had seen him in dramas before this, he’s a very good actor too. And yes he did look a bit like Hu Ge.

lol she’s getting grilled everywhere in weibo douban etc for being so bad at acting despite being an actress for more than 10yrs now. Let alone her overdone styling trying hard to still be pretty on the battlefield as a general. She took on such a good character, a strong woman yet she ruined it with her bad acting. AB is well known in China because if this, hence people been skipping her dramas.

The angst officially kicking in, I look forward to it yet I can’t bear to see SY-ZY separated like this.

well we get their chemistry. Why are forcing people who actually felt their chemistry from the get go to not feel anything like you? lol peoppe have preferences and different kind of feeling. Not all people will not see their chemistry like you. To me they have thi acquintances to frenemies vibe of earlier episodes, then master-disciple (this vibe is truly strong & believable) with budding romance from both sides and then the current ones is totally two people harbouring unspoken feelings for each other but both tried not to cross it because of their master-disciple barrier. FL definitely showed more obvious lovestruck feeling while ML subtle yet we can see how hard he tried to conceal it. It’s overflowing with chemistry now.

Some people just want to hate on the FL no matter how much of a good job she has been showing for her character. No matter what she did, be it good or bad she will still get hate from people who hate her from the start. They won’t see any logic other them trying to pick on any small details about her. That’s what I can see. But they will be flipping mad when other people said FL has more chemistry with SML or other characters lol
So far the productof this drama know what they’re doing imo, they built up a logical story and relationship development. I think they know the direction they’re heading towards. I just wish they will give proper justification for ZY’s action when the angst of stabbing finally happens. Because the amount of hate she will be getting from stans of ML would be enormous.

FL truly can act, I like her a lot too. I’m going to follow her works as well. As of now I had watched 2 of her other works. She has another ongoing drama Ray of Light that is also doing well in China. And guess what, she got so many praises from viewers.

well to be fair FL was also always saving her friends from dying, she’s also knight in shining armour for her friend😂

the previews are all killing me, the last 12 eps will be so awesome, I can already feel the heavy angst coming. It just keeps getting better I can’t even miss it everyday 😌

well this shifu-disciple here is totally not going on a typical plot where one of them turned into a demon or something. ZY truly learned so much from SY like a real master will teach his student. I like how this drama is not the same as the others.

She’s not reckless imo, it just feels right for her to finally let out her thoughts about the truth of long overdue issue. It’s so satisfying for her to say that to the Emperor. Somehow she has a say on the matter because it also involved her.

ep28 finally a jealous Shi Ying appeared when ZY told him about releasing animals with Yuan together every year, the time had finally come😂
Pretty Zhu Yan with pretty hairstyle & outfits. Her matching soft purple outfit with Shi Ying while they were in the palace were so pretty to look at. My heart hurt to see her getting flogged.
I think it’s like moment of awakening to SY when his so called father asked him ‘who are you to her?’ when he wanted to take punishment on behalf of ZY. It was then he decided to leave his priesthood for her. I somehow think the Emperor purposely said that to him. The Emperor was also quite lenient to her by just receiving 40flogged (not a big deal for a cultivator like her even tho it’s painful tbh). If it’s another person saying those stuffs to the Emperor, they will be beheaded… And then SY watching his ZY getting flogged in front of him.

lol yes Ke’erke I feel so bad for him. The way he smiled at Zhu Yan before he killed himself, what a bitter smile. idk you can tell he likes his bride. Too bad this ended this way for him.

true I also think it’s quite a good plan, she won’t get caught if the sorcerer & consort didn’t have other evil plan to do.
They wanted to kill her anyway.
CGI in this drama is good overall especially the monsters, fighting/magic scenes. They did it well to make it look believable. I just don’t like some of the too bright filters they have been using.

I know shifu criticized Zhu Yan for her poor skill for the sand devil stunt she’s pulling at her wedding day but I thought it’s so cool, good job with the illusion magic ZY😂
But seriously tho, CGI of the monsters of this drama like the dragon & sand demon were so well done, they look believable enough. So did the others CGI effects.

true he’s so detached from other human so he lacked emotional empathy imo
It’s Zhu Yan who taught him more about various emotions than the ones he’s used to.
