But Ren Min is such an interesting actress. Even tho she’s criticized for her looks on TLP, she has an ongoing tv drama Ray of Light that is also currently broadcasted where she received so many praises and merit. Some viewers did realize it’s the styling that gave her problem. I’m so glad Ray of Light was broadcasted a bit earlier than TLP.

When this project was announced, the production/director did explain they wanted young actress with good acting skill for the role. Ren Min’s has her own merit among young actresses with good acting skill. She was on I Am Actor variety tv show in China with Wang Churan as well and she was praised for her performance. Her debut movie was also praised for good acting from her.

After watching the underwater kiss scene idk for how many times… the underwater acting was so impressive, like when SY opened his eyes and stared at ZY kissing him, ZY was also staring and she pulled way looking guilty for kissing him afterwards, I can totally see the awkwardness and embarrassment from her, despite being underwater for real. She delivered the correct expression. And SY, I was so mesmerised when he stared back of course, looking confused-touched but didn’t even dodge it. How sweet and great acting from both😌

true I’m a wuxia fan so I want to praise the fighting scenes. And yes both SY & ZY nailed it with believable facial expressions and movements including when they used magic. The hand movements are 👍

CM likes ZY too for SY, he praised her many times but he stopped at ‘but she’s the curse lady’. The only thing holding him back to root for them is the so called calamity prophecy. DSM is so dirty using both CM & ZY against SY. He used them as his ‘chess pieces’ smh

yup I know her from Cry Me A Sad River days, and Serenade of Peaceful Joy. I meant it when I said styling in TLP did her so dirty because she’s so elegantly pretty on SOPJ. And she used her own super soft voice there, a palace costume drama.

yup her styling looks pretty today. My personal fav of her was during mint green disciple dress, during her drunk & hiding inside Sy’s sleeve scenes. She looked freaking cute & pretty.

Most importantly Ren Min can really ACT. I love it when both leads show quality acting than just being pretty 24/7. From the spoilers, she will show even more polished acting alongside Xiao Zhan. Acting feast coming soon.

I agree with everything especially fighting scenes. I’m a fan of wuxia compared to xianxia & I’m very satisfied with how believable both XZ & RM did fighting scenes here. The facial expressions are good, usually female wil fall short when they did wuxia in term on facial expressions and correct movements but RM really did well. When doing fighting scenes, the movements need to look believable and both of them nailed it. So did when they used magic, the hand movements 👍
