I’m almost 7yrs late to the party.
This is the kind of drama that will annoy you so much with some of the characters’ selfishness, the kind of frustration that will make you cursed & pulled out your hairs lol
But toward the ending, I found it sad especially when Teoi’s trial start with teary performances from his mom & Yi.
In the end when grandma finally put a prawn into her only daughter’s plate, just for her, I didn’t notice I cried. Like finally grandma, you realized how unfair you were with sons/daughter favoritism. I think many Asian householf can relate to this.
Btw I still think it’s wrong for Vegas to get away with what he did and suddenly Yi was criticized for helping his brother. Like Vegas & Meimei deserved much more hate from the public than Yi.

Cons of this drama was I think it’s too long for the plot and it tends to drag so much, I watched at 1.25x speed so all was well.
Acting performances were solid tho from almost everyone.

Thai movies are always on top with their slice of life theme. GDH doing it again.

The asistant girl pissed me off at first when she answered the reason for weather casting were to make sure people don’t forget their umbrella when they go out & to make sure the laundry won’t get wet. Zero common sense for a girl living in highly prone country to natural disasters like Japan😒
Like it’s the most basic answer, it’s to save lives.
I also won’t hire someone like her to work at such important dept like SDM. Inexperience is okay but she also didn’t do her homework or even have common sense to answer her superior’s question smh
For a girl who also had lost a sister because of natural disaster, her answers sound so ignorant.
I hope she will get better on ep2 above or else I will keep side eyeing her.

But aside from her, overal ep1 was good. It reminds me so much of Code Blue that I had watched years ago. The rescue mission was great to watch and I also learned new knowledge about weather and how to handle avalanches if it happened. Very informative and interesting as a drama.

But Zhu Li Lan’s acting never disappoints! I have been impressed since watching her on Immortal Promise. Here, she nailed it again the emotional acting. She deserves more reputable works.

if the face swap didn’t happen, then this drama can’t even start and ended on ep2 because the FL supposed to die because of her identity as Yang’s family daughter. She didn’t die because of her scarred face or she can’t survive because she’s not pretty. Like you said, only pretty people will survive which is not the vibe they’re going for at all? You totally lost the plot.
I don’t blame you for stopping to watch but if you actually watched more, you will notice this drama is not about turning into pretty face but inner beauty is the most important.
Up to ep18 now this drama didn’t decline and disappointing at all with the plot imo. The mystery thriller of cases they’re investigating were good so they just don’t focus solely on romance.
Plus you started this drama without knowing jjy is the FL or something?

Same, I actually suspected him the most because this drama usually has plot twist.
Plus SL always emphasized that SZ is his only sister, he can do anything for her. They will probably do a sad revelation or something like they did with Gu Shan’s story. SL killing his own sister out of his love for her will be quite sad to him. He seems like such a dedicated brother who’s willing to do anything for SZ even it’s bad.
But then it could be wrong because they had solved the case with the assassin who impersonated PY and killed SZ with the gold needle, he’s related to water sect rebellion gang. It will be interesting if there’s a twist tho.

Ep15 had the best case investigation so far. Gu Shan and her mother’s story moved me to tears. I love how they highlighted on difficult life for women as mother/daughter with evil father.
I also love to see the og villain Shangguan Zhi making her small appearance even it’s just YCW’s acting to lure GS.

EP18 was the best for romance so far. I giggled stupidly like how stupidly cute PY was behaving around YCW lol their chemistry is on fire indeed.
and of course our second couple AJ/BXS moments were good too.

I hate to wait when the story is strongly good with the plot and direction like this.

After zzh, probably on par with him chemistry-wise, I think liu xueyi here has the best chemistry with ju jingyi and I’m pleasently surprised with good good is the chemistry and plot of this drama. I also only finished jjy drama with zzh before this but this drama will be next for me to finish. Totally worth watching.

Same, I acknowledge this drama as my fav drama of JJY. Her chemistry just worked with Liu Xue Yi. She used to have the best chemistry with Zhang Zehan but I’m more inclined to LXY now. She should do another work with LXY indeed, like she had 2 drama with zzh before this.
