She’s natural with acting, just that some complex scenes require more expressions.

In this drama, there’s no problem with her make up imo, just appropriate but I love her looks better when she wore simple clothing and the braid hairstyle she did. She always looks pretty anyway.

Even when they were hostile towards each other at the beginning, after YCW turned into SZ & they suspected each other as the culprit, it was HOT chemistry to watch lol

true like it’s so weird that they kept giving jky excessive makeup when she’s always dissed for that in her dramas. At this rate, I think they purposely did that to bring traffic to the drama at the cost of JJY’s image. She’s someone who can bring traffic to the drama. Even for this drama, the traffic and attention for Shangguan Zhi’s character as villain is massive with views on douyin, weibo etc

JJY did improve in this drama, I can see it. She should try to venture villain/grey characters next, doing different characters will lead to improvement. I think JJY’s biggest problem is she can’t let go of her idol image while acting, she’s not all out for it with expressions but I agree with she never did too badly with her acting. Once she learned to let go of that idol baggage, she will be better.

ZHHZ, I think I had only watched her on You’re My Glory but I don’t even remember her character, I just know about it when I saw her list of previous drama. I did read about her past acting tho and they’re saying she wasn’t that good either. A guest role didn’t show much depth tbh viewers just sympathetized with her pitiful life before she became SZ. And they want a story of a supposedly ugly girl with scarred face and pitiful life with a knight in shining armour like Pan Yue. I can see the vision. She did well as og YCW but short guest character cant say much about her level of acting.

I think it’s good that they made PY the one recognising YCW by himself rather than her telling him about her identity. And it’s logical that he kept pretending not to know in order to protect her or else she might end up dying like SZ.

I watched with 0 expectations just because this drama hit 10k hear index on youku so I gave it a chance and I ended up binge watch 10eps straight lol
The mystery thriller with romance plot is really good so far. It keeps getting better. Chemistry is chemistrying too between characters.

I think Pan Yue has some kind of bigger plan with the princess. They probably team upbto investigate the case at Heyang idk the princess didn’t look like a shallow princess to me.

I quite like ZHHZ potrayal as og Yang Caiwei, I think she has some Yang Zi’s vibe but reading this on X just now, such disappointment…what a green tea miss girl. Her fans are unhinged too with the CP. Like get over it. The guts she has to shade JJY smh

yes she’s doing very well in In Blossom, I really like her characters both as SZ and YCW. The chemistry is also very good here with Liu Xueyi.
If she pushed her limit more and be more serious, not caring much on maintaining to look pretty on screenbecause she already is, she will be even better. I look forward to her next drama.

I adore JJY on The Legend of Yunxi, I like her there. But her follow up projects didn’t give much improvement to her. She needs constructive criticisms to improve, not blatant insults. She has a complete package imo, if she just keeps improving in her acting, she will be unstoppable. I n some of her dramas, I did think she and her team overdid her make up and hair accessories in scenes not suitable to do so but in this drama, it’s appropriate enough. She’s still pretty without exaggerating styling anyway. She can wear rag and will still look pretty. She just needs to put more focus on her acting.

With her traffic status currently, it will hard for her to choose supporting roles. Other than her agency, her fans themselves will riot if she’s not top billing unless she’s acting with higher status seniors than her.
I think grey character with wicked personality will also suit her. Grey character can be main too, we don’t always have to get green flag characters. I wish cdrama can level up in that area.
But JJY scenes as villain Shangguan Zhi is really popular there even for such a short moment. I wish they can give her more scenes on first 2 episodes.
But overall she did great as both characters, we can see clear differences between them.

yes they went head to head because 2 days ago it was In Blossom at the first place and now Shenli took over, IB at no2 which is still very high position for a drama with A level investment compared to Shenli or wang yibo’s drama.

I’m on ep10 after binge watch and I enjoyed this drama a lot so far. It’s very fun. I started this after some good reviews from c-side and it’s ranked top1 on all platforms. They started as A level investment drama and now cerified S+ while hitting 10k youku heat index.

Ju Jingyi is doing great as both villain Shangguan Zhi and Yang Caiwei.
Ju Jingyi & Liu Xueyi have good chemistry imo, I think LXY is her second best partner after Zhang Zehan. She should partner with male lead this experienced and matured looking more. Liu Xueyi is so great as usual. I usually have many complains about JJY’s acting but she did well her so idk what the haters yapping about here, comparing her to zhhz? I don’t really have attachment to og ycw because it was short and I don’t see much in her compared to after jjy took over. I can see more of her personalities developing, yes more episodes helped but jjy doing great too. I like how afraid and hostile sz (ycw) was towards py when she thought he was the culprit and he’s also hostile towards her because he thought she was the culprit. The hostility towards each other was hot to watch. The susense bgm they used was also good to enhance the nerve wrecking scenes.

Plus let’s be real, if Ju Jingyi is not the main FL, this drama won’t be getting this much popularity in China. Even getting 1st on platforms etc her villain character as Shangguan Zhi was so popular that it brings the traffic to the drama. It’s combination of Ju Jingi and Liu Xue Yi working plus the drama plot/writing/cinematography/acting. Face swap is ridiculous to you when it’s on the same level as rebirth plot? lol it’s pretty much the same thing, black magic. I can’t take people who justify many version of rebirth but looked down on face swap seriously.

Yang Caiwei in Shangguan Zhi’s body now is more vibrant & smart than melo angsty girl in the first 2 episodes.

Before watching, did you even check who’s the main leads? It’s obvious ju jingyi is the main FL.
Btw she’s doing so well as both evil Shangguan Zhi and Yang Caiwei. She have more colors to the characters.
