I have to say the only problem I’m seeing right now is the editing of these episodes. It’s like scene, scene,…
I thought I read somewhere that this drama was suppose to be 70 episodes but even with two seasons combined, it's just 63 so I think they have to do so editing and it may not look as clean as we would like it.
Here is my theory on ep 6 where XY was asked a series of questions under XL's power (call it hypno or truth telling). She easily answered the questions of whether she wanted to marry Feng Long (a no), whether she would want to marry TSJ (a no) but a yes for the alias name she gave him (the version of TSJ without the burden of his responsibilities). But when she was asked who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, she couldn't answer. It got too painful for her. If it was TSJ, she would have said his name or her alias name for him. If it was that obvious. But what wasn't obvious but is reflected in her obvious pain to resisting to answer that question truthfully, is that she wants XL.
But she knows she can't admit it, nor allow herself to give into her deepest desire because she said it before in season 1, she can't allow herself to even dream of him or even dream to want him because it has no good ending. Coupled with a constant reminder of the tragic fate between her mother and her lover aka alleged father, she didn't want that to come at all.
It highlights that there can be different answers: who she wants to spend her life with (XL), who she actually prefers to spend her life with (TSJ).
This drama keeps getting better and better 👏👏👏. Once again the AI/ medical/ business side of this is…
Current boyfriend is a womanizer. You hear the tips he gives to HT is enough to tell you what kind of person he is. He's basically just looking for sex and a nice dinner mate. He barely talks about himself and what he does and when Lili tried to, he shut the conversation down. So it tells you he's just not being serious with her. I hope Lili is smart enough to realize that he's not serious and to just enjoy it while it lasts.
I'm only on episode 7 but what is JX's reason for not accepting HT's offer? Is it just her pride? I find it illogical…
It's not just her pride. JX wants to launch her own career with her own product and have full control it. However, HT's offer is more of a promotion from her original job working for an employer. She probably hated those office politics and not being recognized and value for her skillset. So while HT's offer would give her an immediate break and stability for her career, she wanted to stick it out on her startup.
Does anyone know in any of Xu Kai's interviews, was he ever asked to compare his role in Best Choice Ever? I've watched that drama and current up to date on this one, I struggle to see the distinction in his characters in both of these dramas. It's not meant to be a criticism as I thoroughly enjoy this drama. I'm curious as to the insight into the two roles.
For me, I don't find TSJ interesting. I get XY wants an ordinary life but then again, without angst, we wouldn't…
You also missed the point of my comment which is my opinion that I am entitled to it. To call it petty jealousy, you can't take criticism then. I don't hate TSJ, I just find him boring and not worthy of me shipping for him. I even find Feng Long more interesting despite him having the least screen time. The guy is pragmatic. It's not a shame if I don't like TSJ. Why do we have to like him? Because XY does?
I also said TSJ didn't try to find other ways to save XY. I didn't say he didn't try at all. But he didn't hesitate when he saw his powers wasn't working to just give up and to die with her. Maybe people see that as an epic display of love, I rather see the man leave the formation and find someone to save XY. Because he had the power to leave the formation with XY but he chose to stay and die with her.
So many people here are entirely missing the point of Jings character and their specific love. What a shame. And…
For me, I don't find TSJ interesting. I get XY wants an ordinary life but then again, without angst, we wouldn't be as hooked as we are. What XY wants is also rather in simple terms- she wants someone by her side, all the time and at all cost. Well, that would first require someone to have little to no responsibilities and to not really have aspirations. All other 3 men have their own aspirations and their goals that defines them. To simply give it all up (as TSJ would try to do, emphasize on the try) makes him just like a puppy slave to XY. You see that clearly when XY was borderline near death in season 1- he didn't think of trying to find other ways to save her or preserving her body to be saved (CX and XL did). Instead he just leaps to death with her. That's all great. And yes, all his moping around and not really fighting for XY is annoying. I don't even want to start on why he kept his brother alive after what he did to him. That's not compassion - that's plain stupid.
I've not been disappointed in any of LYX's dramas since his fame from Ashes of Love but this one, I made it to episode 8 and I just threw the white towel in. I can't feel anything to justify finishing this drama.
I started this for Leo as I am a huge fan. After a few episodes in, I didn't like it. Didn't understand snooker which is part of my problem with it. Another is the romance. While I don't mind a slow burn romance, I expect more to happen. I finished it after watching it in 1.5 to 2.0 speed because it was that boring to me. Nothing wrong with the acting. I just found the story too boring. I couldn't get excited. 30 episodes is way too long. I also detest the idea of 'getting married' so that other people wouldn't want to pursue them as even a thought. Not my cup of tea.
I'm catching up on this having waited until the announcement of the 2nd season so I wouldn't wait a whole year for the sequel. I'm just on episode 9 and I have to say, if Cheng Yi is known for his brutal and tragic roles then Yang Zi is the female counterpart. All of her period dramas have been absolute heartbreaking in torture, pain and regrets. Yes, I saw them in Immoral Samsara and they compliment each other so well.
Just wanted to say that WXY with his hair down and half draping on his face = new level of fire. I realize that all of his period dramas have his hair up and for that short scene of his hair down, OMG...I want more.
I'm currently on episode 7...I honestly can't seem to get into this drama. I'm not feeling anything between the leads. I've been staying since many other viewers said it gets better as we keep going. I usually give up after a few episodes not clicking with me but have stayed because it's Luo Yun Xi. Can someone tell me it gets better and when?
SYR telling XFF to kill XH, then they can live happily ever after is sending me…like the guy has truly lost…
A part of me thinks suicide isn't expected for a character like him (who has done everything he could to survive, even endure humiliation) but it almost seems like he did it as XFF was walking away from him, not batting an eye was his last final attempt to get her attention (he was going to die anyways) and to see if she would even shed a tear for him (being manipulative). But thankfully, XFF didn't turn to look and kept walking on. There is nothing more powerful than to not get forgiveness he desperately wanted. I always said it's a shame he lost a great wife and it's even sadder that he thought he could right things, by "cleansing" himself ie- get rid of Wanning, rise to power and be in control.
I was thinking the same on Xiao Heng's bid goodbye, 'hope to see you soon'.
I can only hope that they do a modern drama as a 'sequel'. Similar to how they did it for One and Only. It's funny because a very recent interview with WJY, she was asked how the story would be played in modern drama, and she thought about it too
But she knows she can't admit it, nor allow herself to give into her deepest desire because she said it before in season 1, she can't allow herself to even dream of him or even dream to want him because it has no good ending. Coupled with a constant reminder of the tragic fate between her mother and her lover aka alleged father, she didn't want that to come at all.
