He needs proof. He knows who did it but to bring him down, he needs to do it step by step. So right now, his first goal is to plant a seed of distrust in his father.

I can listen to him for hours. It's amazing actually and I totally agree that there is something calming about him.

I absolutely love this scene. It shows how well they work together even with little to no advance warning to play along. We saw it earlier when they were still 'enemies' and JC would just casually play into the scene (think the falling into the water). I love it the most for seeing WZ doing what he can to save/protect JC while treading an extremely dangerous line. It's nice to see JC get some control back after being like a puppet, pushed here and there and she had little to no say of what to do in her circumstances.

He really shined in his character in Queen of Dugu as rather complicated and largely antagonist. But for me, I liked him in Autumn Ballad - amazing chemistry with his female co-star. I think this is one of his last few dramas he filmed as he has announced his retirement from acting.

The only bigger project than these mini series he's been in is Royal Rumors - full length drama with Jeremy Tsui. Problem with that drama, his tragic character arcs in these mini series followed him to the full length drama there.

Me too! I didn't like the ones where his hair is up in a bun. Then in Love You Seven Times, he finally had his hair down and paired with his bright and light color costumes, it was perfect.

The only reason I have stuck to this series. Him. It's amazing how the styling can age him so well and then you look at him in the cast game episode and he's just young and playful - not a serious look on him.

I love how CXZ offers the alternative to him not being able to abandon his title and duties for LMT by proposing a form of long distance relationship (absolutely unheard of in c-drama). I love how he had his pouting face when LMT said "no" and he slowly takes back what he just handed her, slowly turns and leaves without saying a word. I love his shameless chase after LMT but not to the put where he gives up everything. He had his line he wouldn't cross and just that, he deserves respect.

You should try him for Are You Safe. He's very comical in that role.

Smart and reckless is his next idea but the payoff is good

I can't believe Ryan Ding is dubbed here. Although in a much earlier trailer, it was his voice. Ugh. He can pull off a commanding voice (you've heard him in Love You Seven Times) but this dubber (no offence to him specifically) is the one that Cheng Yi uses for most of his dramas and so when I hear his voice, I see Cheng Yi. It might have had to do with production time. This drama was filmed in record time of 3 months and was ready for airing in less than 6 - I would assume that to bring in Ryan Ding to dub over his lines would be difficult as he has been filming a new drama. But still, my heart..ears...

I am enjoying his 'chasing wife' tactics. See his grovel here and there, throw in his shameless. There is a wrinkle in their reunion with the current emperor...he will throw a wrench so it helps add to the drag a bit

I'm guessing at least till ep 30. There is a key moment for CXZ to happen and LMT takes care of him and even then, it doesn't roll right into her forgiving him but it should be shortly after.

Let the shameless CXZ era start! I love it when he comes out to defend LMT whenever he can. Anytime anyone bad mouths LMT, he gets so angry and defensive. Even when his sidekick said he dotted her too well that she now has a peculiar taste for food (CXZ sends him the death glare). Love it. I'm not surprised the storyline is going this way. I knew it from the start. There are classic tropes in this drama but it's not offputting.
