I always love the scene when ZYZ and WX together...just quietly sit beside each other and talk about what they…
So natural when they would sit together and have these conversations. Whenever they did those earlier flashbacks of them together back when he wore a mask, the foundation of their relationship was cemented there.
Li Lun seemed to be one of those villains I usually end up sympathizing with later into the story, but this guy's…
There was a very short character intro from the actor who played Li Lun. He explained in the intro that Li Lun appears to be the antagonist of the series but he comes from a place of wanting to protect his family and what he holds dear - his methods are absolutely questionable no doubt - does it justify it, unlikely. But there is much more to him - then just cause chaos and grief and have no disregard to any life - not a straightforward baddy.
Is it just me or neo hou really hits diff here? I hv wtch him in back from the brink, dashing youth.. but in here…
costume, hairstyle (first time he has this hair completely back and not in some bulb) and he carries himself in this role very good - when it comes to his body movements and his tone. He is fitting the role of a very old demon very well. His character also has a complicated history that so far, been given to us in breadcrumbs. I loved him to bits in Back from the Brink, hated Dashing Youth (but not Neo's fault) but this role - is my #1 of all his roles.
The Goddess who sealed fei and qing geng is a different one, right? She's not WX's master?
She looks different from WX's master and she is not the first bai ze goddess. The first bai ze goddess didn't even seal Fei and she got the plague already.
I’m all here for it. That slapping part was my fav haha. Neo Hou’s acting as a demon here is blowing my mind.…
and his tone, ah! Talks super slow for the most part and here when he's like not pretending to be all graceful for a second, he is comfortable with ZYC to slap him and tell him 'are you brainless?"
This spoiler .... I didn't even realize it until now.. I would not put it past Li Lun to come up with this scheme..…
OMG! I didn't even notice that. Also, I had to go back to replay some of Li Lun's scenes. He's actually never physically there, he's always possessing someone or using an illusion in place of someone. He's trapped by the same seal that has trapped Ai Mi's character but it's amazing that despite being physically trapped itself, he can still project his powers away from him.
The bromance, it's been so long having such a fun bromance. The mutual slapping of each other and bickering had me into giggles. I want more of these bromance scenes where they work together, start to trust each other more and then still throw in jabs into each other's character mix with sarcasm. This itself could carry the drama for dozens of episodes.
There is romance between WX and ZYZ but it's subtle. The flirting back and forth is a nice tease and then throw in the occassional jealousy from ZYC while also trying to hide his kindness towards his swore enemy makes this drama so much fun.
I honestly don't know where things went south for me with this drama. I had high hopes and the trailer made it very angsty and it looked like MRJH was a complicated character for most of the drama. Instead, almost all the magic happened in the first 3 episodes. Then the major story arc was done by episode 24 along with all expectations and hope I had left for this drama. Now I am at ep 25, I'm just looking to finish it.
I love all aspects of this drama. I knew it would be my fave from Neo. He's giving off the mentor vibes like Cheng Yi in Lotus Casebook (where he is also comedic). HIs banter with TJR is just hilarious. One second they are serious, next they insert a burn or roast comment. I also love the slow delivery of their lines - it makes you think a bit, appreciate the scene and the words sink so much deeper. The villain of this show is rather interesting. He appears to want to rid Neo's friends but he isn't putting full effort and he doesn't seem interested in wanting to really hurt Neo. There is obviously a deep history between the two. I also notice that Neo's character isn't overly proactive - he seems to interject when necessary. He certainly was on the offensive side when his former old friend shows up. I'm curious to see where this will go.
When did this turn into a comedy? lol it had me laughing so I’m not complaining but like um guys…help? Even…
I honestly didn't think it had comedic elements. The trailer makes it look like MJTY (it even has 3 casts from it) with the fantasy elements of demons. But then that scene of Neo basically flirting with the FL was hilarious.
Sfl is really not smart, i must say that her brain must die out anytime she doing battle maybe anyway she’s…
I don't even get why CP does so much to try to even get her to bat at eye at him. It's almost like he hates how she cares for ML more despite him acting fanatical, etc. She's not done much of anything to lead him to think he even has a faint of hope.
This is one of those moments where suspension of disbelief must be deployed. This is the same show that a general…
I disagree. They couldn't start any fire - it will give away their position and also be signs of life. The falcons would be able to track them better this way. Also, they are on the move to a certain location - making fire and finding food is more in line if they were stuck in a place and needed help but they are actually being tracked by assassins sent by CP so their only play is to move - constantly moving. They barely stop to rest and that tells you they can't spare a moment to find food. Then you may say, well FL can go find food. You noticed she never once left his side because they know ML would be unprotected if the assassins showed up. She was the only person to protect him. Furthermore, he wasn't anticipating to be starving for too long. His sidekick seems to be able to track them and he finds them soon enough. This is a long play that ML is engaging - pretending to be dead while trying to survive CP's assassins hot on their heels.
Once again AvenueX confirming why I no longer watch her reviews. The most downer of a reviewer when it comes to…
I totally agree with you. I only had watched some of her reviews on certain dramas but that was it. I see her highlights and I know her critique is not at all impartial. She seems to have a liking to certain actors/actresses so if it's those dramas, she reviews them very well. I don't give her any of my time anymore just because I roll my eyes too much.
