I dare say, YJL's proposal for marriage is just as sweet and heartwarming as GTY in Ming Lan. There are remarkable similarities. It's going to be a sweet ride.
If anyone is looking for a supportive ML - similar to A Dream of Splendor and Are You the One, please watch this. This drama is so underrated. ML is very supportive of FL in her journey - whether it is to recreate her father's red silk dye or for her to establish her own business - he doesn't dissuade her. He does keep her out of danger and balances the need to protect her and also allow her to do what she can on her own. It complements FL's character who had to essentially grow up at a young age - learned not to be dependent on anyone but herself and therefore, does not overly rely on any man to protect her. The upcoming trailers are getting sweeter by the episode. It's going to be a fun ride watching the courtship blossom into romance and then the side of healthy dose of jealousy.
Okay, maybe the story's already lampshaded this, and if so, tell me what I missed, but: has it ever been confirmed…
The recipe isn't known - that's why there are numerous imitations of it but not the genuine one. The trailer for next episode tells us that there is a secret ingredient that even JYY wasn't aware of which was hidden by her father to protect the recipe. It's implied she does know the recipe as she tries to recreate it in the next episodes but can't seem to do it right.
Tought about yang jing .. just minor spoiler below .....Its rare to hv ML that so selflees in love.. he actually…
He's very selfless. He said in ep 10, that to love someone is to be happy for them when they are happy, worry for them when they are sad, share joy with them when they are joyful. Being together is just an afterthought. He's very much acts of service for now but he will change to being more assertive in his display of affection for her.
YJL has it bad already for Ying Ying. He's not showing it but when he does, you notice he can't stand even a hot moment of knowing Ying Ying would be uncomfortable. He heard she cried, tells his sidekick to send her in. She sneezed from being cold after sweeping, he sends her home right away. She tried to drink alcohol as a sign of forgiveness, he wouldn't let her get to the 2nd cup. ZYC does it subtly and so when the time come really show his affection for her, it's going to be so sweet - we will melt.
Always find ZYC under-rated. Some new and younger actors are not much better than him yet they constantly get…
He hasn't had a good script that would allow him to shine. My fave from him is Stealth Walker. I had a lot of hope for him for Desire Catcher but the script just flopped towards the end.
TSY is one of the very few actresses who can be in any role and I wouldn't find her boring for even one second. I am absolutely ecstatic that ZYC has dubbed himself! I really like his voice. Some of his costume dramas (think My Sassy Princess) had him dubbed and it was terrible. Here, thank you for dubbing his own voice. In fact, I see no one is dubbed. Delight!
Since I rarely saw comments about pei sijing compare to the three main leads, what are your opinions about her,…
I honestly found her character was written rather with lack of depth. Almost as if they tried too hard to fit her in with her contribution. Such as she is the only other female companion to WX and so they are close and I liked her role in being the most level headed in the whole group - she has her strengths no doubt. I get why she is part of the squad - being the only pure mortal - she grappled with her inherit weakness as a mortal against demons and she doesn't shy away from a fight.
It saddens me to say this, I wish Ryan Ding was NOT dubbed. He has such an amazing voice that I can't feel his greatest potential without it. Especially those emotional scenes. That's why I really liked Love You Seven Times (the one time he was not dubbed in a costume drama). I just saw BTS of the fight scene he had with the water demon early on - the simple two short lines with his own voice told me how much we missed out - his line delivery was excellent. Him being dubbed ruined it for me - among other things - I couldn't like this drama as much as many people would. I also didn't like his other drama (Melody of Age) because he was dubbed. To me, it reduced his performance and no doubt, his acting is amazing.
If anyone needs a mood lifting drama with Neo Hou- try his recent Youth of Baylon (it's set in the 90s) and was aired a few months ago. Not hugely popular. Dashing Youth was meh for me in terms of the plot. I only watched it for Neo.
I've been depressed all Sunday. I tried to find some light hearted drama to mend from. Needed a good laugh. I…
Oh no..That one is not a mood lifting drama. I stopped at ep 13 but need to pick up. I was trying Smile Code - which is light hearted. Here is the YT link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmXAXw-5Fno
i’ve been replaying the scene where wen xiao ‘first encounter’ with zhu yan in the bureau jail. he asked…
A part of me thinks that she wasn't immediately scared of him and also being in that jail with him cuffed (knowing very well the cuffs and the jail wasn't actually confining him) to talk about the terms of their partnership - she knew deep down he was someone she knew (the masked man from the wilderness). There was a sense of familiarity and trust. Like she knew he wouldn't hurt her. There is a scene in the jail where they are bickering and she threatens to slit her throat- ZYZ's entire tone and demeanour changes from being playful to seriousness which further cements to her that he's not a threat to her.
this withdrawal symptom of FoF is truly concerning. i’ve been staring at the wall for good 10 minutes and still…
