Title Wulin Heroes Spoiler
I have a feeling based on the trailer - that there will be a lot of flashbacks to FL's previous lives and her romantic entanglements. First episode had a 5 year jump and where it's been confusing the viewers is their sporadic way of showing the flashbacks but not in a chronological order. At episode 6- we are back to 3 years ago on how she met the crown prince and Cang Qi. We missed about the the terrible Tang guy that she met 2 years before the crown prince.

Also, seeing the ginseng root marks on Bai Yue's back at present time - it shows multiple branches. So from episode 1- he got one branch mark after FL saved him outside the tomb. Where he appears secretive about their relationship suggests that she actually saved him multiple times in the last 5 years. It suggests they had a much complicated relationship than we see in the present time where he appears to be disinterested in her. My gut feeling is that she's saved him too many times using her ginseng root and it has some sort of side effect on her. In the recent episodes, he got angry with her when she secretly placed a ginseng in his medicine. No one would know there was ginseng in it but himself and he yelled at her for potentially exposing her identity to others.

In the trailer for ep 7-8, shows that he was there when she was sentenced to death by the crown prince. He couldn't save her though. Cang Xi and Bai Yue seem to also have a bit of history that leads to present time. But seeing that Cang Xi isn't the least bit jealous of Bai Yue suggests that he is unaware of Bai Yue's feelings for FL or what he's done for her.

I think if you haven't dropped it yet, stay on. The entanglements are getting looser by each episode.

First impression- Like many of you, I eagerly awaited this new drama after finishing TBOY. However, the opening song effect is elementary/kindergarden. Then I saw the special effects- just a big sigh. It is tacky. Storyline may be a bit confusing but I think if we keep watching, it will make more sense. I laughed when the Tang family secret weapon is brought up in episode 1 (the same name and even type of weapon from TBOY). Then I laughed hard when FL called Bai Yue "brother" and he looked disgusted. That just reminded me of Love Better Than Immortality. If you compare this to TBOY, you will surely be disappointed. Even from the trailer, we should know it's not on par and it shouldn't even be judged as such.

If you want a light hearted drama, doesn't take itself too serious and decent characters with just as handsome LHY, you should stick around. Just 22 episodes is more bearable than a 40 episode investment of time and mental anguish. I personally don't think any of LHY's dramas (past, present and future) will have him in just as stunning outfits and hairstyle compared to TBOY. However, I didn't like his hairstyle in Love Better Than Immortality and Queen Lau. I think this series seems less ridiculous than Queen Lau. I can't even watch Queen Lau even with LHY in it.

Bai Yue isn't a silly character and the FL seems decent enough. Just don't read into the plot flaws, tacky special effects and just focus on the characters themselves and if only LHY can get you through this, then so be it.

I think for aviation industry especially pilot, there's no such small mistake or else it will crush your whole…
I don't feel sorry for Jiang. As a captain, he carries immense responsibility. He made a decision to not diver the flight to Saigon but rather push forward to Singapore. He knew very well his concern was with getting the flight on time to sign an important agreement that would lead to his VP role. In the face of uncertainty about a passenger's health (appearing stable), he gambled and the passenger's life was the cost of that gamble. No one knows for certain that the passenger would have survived had he sought earlier medical attention. What is certain is that the passenger did die and he had symptoms that should of caused a reasonable person especially someone as a captain to have. Remember Guo said he would of diverted the flight to the nearest suitable airport. For Guo, the signing of the agreement wasn't important because he had no personal stake in it. When a personal interest interferes with the objectiveness of a captain, he's no longer acting in the best interest of his passengers.

I get that it's not a legal drama... but the way this whole court case was handled is so ridiculous and unrealistic…
I agree mostly with you. Jiang didn't buy off everyone of the Saigon airport. He only bought off ones that had an ability to access the recordings. It is poor script writing. Even if the tape is manipulated (which in practice, must be near impossible to do without being caught), it's not hard to find other sources from the airport to confirm whether the runway was shut down at a particular point.

Also, I get the FL's perspective of telling the truth and exposing the liar but to willingly be a witness against her own company and think on some level she can still keep her job with Louzhou air is unrealistic. Jiang's actions were representative of the airline. The airline didn't do anything wrong but they are liable for the actions of their pilots, especially a captain.

It's Jiang's wife who is the younger guy's sister. It's not the younger guy's wife (who left him) and her relationship with Jiang. In Chinese relationships, the younger guy refers to Jiang as what we call in English as "brother in law" but it doesn't differentiate what type of brother of law. In Chinese, he refers to Jiang as the husband of his sister.

I'm mostly here for the actor who plays He Na. I first spotted him in YuXi with Zheng Zhehang. Then he really impressed me in Ruyi Pavilion and I prayed he got his own main role series. He dubbed his own voice here as I recognized it in Ruyi. His hairstyle and outfits here, I'm just dying. He has potential. I just wish he got more opportunities. Seeing his list of TBA series gives me hope to see more of him.

Gao is so dumb he thinks he won, even tho its because xun was in prison. He had no chance had he not been. Instead…
I think he felt he couldn't outshine LX which is totally fine. He could find something else to excel at. LX's biggest issue is his inability to make good friends (he's too arrogant and shoulders everything, not a team player). At the end of the day, LX may not excel at the business aspect for his technology while Gao has clearly shown he can. Growing a tech company in 3 years to the extent he did isn't just without nothing. LX doesn't work well with others. He makes decisions and executes it without brainstorming with others. That's what that irked Gao in the very beginning but just living off the success of LX without making a man for himself isn't enough for Gao. I can see where his anger and frustration is at but I disagree with his means of taking something that never belonged to him and does a 360 with it.

LX's comeback is going to be amazing. Always love a portrayal of nothing to greatness. Even better, is having lost everything, he still comes off as not ashamed of his actions. He's not afraid to start from scratch. He locks in on his target and goal. Love this!

Gao only got the best of LX because he didn't see it coming. Now that the trust is gone, Gao is no match for LX. During that reveal when he visited LX in prison, he revealed his vulnerability and lack of self-esteem when faced with LX. His voice, while stern is shaken.

why were his other shows dubbed?
I feel like his tone wouldn't match properly with the lines he would deliver. He has been doing nearly costume/period/fantasy drama so he's always dubbed. This is his real voice. At times, he dubbed himself where his lips don't match the words.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. But the #1 thing I like about this drama is that we finally get to have an undubbed Xu Kai. Everything he's been in has been dubbed. I barely know what his actual voice is. It's perfect.

Ep 10 - I didn't like how FL went to her parents to solve a mess she got herself in. She's in university and already an adult and yet, when she got herself in a mess and about to suffer real consequences for it, she calls her mother. I personally find it distasteful for adults to use their parents social status/wealth to solve their problem. It's definitely privilege but at the same time, I always felt it doesn't do anything to encourage personal growth or independence. If she was a young kid, I would understand her parents interference. But as a young adult, that whole scene where the 'big boss' punishes herself, I didn't find any rejoice in that. Just as the FL said, it wasn't by her own actions that got 'victory'. But it's just her saying it. There is little reflection on realizing how her family social status that carries to her, gives her advantages over others such as ML and his friend (Ren Di). They work hard for themselves, don't ask for handouts or ask for others to help when they see trouble. I get it that they are a couple years older than FL but it only shows that calling FL a 'princess' is right. She lived a sheltered life, pre-arranged by her parents- whether in academics or soon to be her romantic life.

I've only seen Arthur Chen in Legend of Awakening (it was a so-so drama) and so I didn't have much hopes for this. However, I gave it a try. It took me till ep 8 to finally see the romantic tension between the leads and it's getting sweeter as we go. I find Arthur Chen lost a lot of weight (at least since Legend of Awakening) that I nearly didn't even recognize him. I hope this is just his normal weight but I do like his subtle expressions here. I didn't really like his character and portrayal in Legend of Awakening. I find him more improved here perhaps the script suits him more.

Is Songyun Tan playing the Dark Saintess?
It's a different actress that I recognize from another drama but cannot seem to pinpoint it. She was in some period drama that I can recall.

Ugh AvenueX. Terrible youtuber with opinions that are easily bought. I will never forget or forgive her behaviour…
I don't like AA either but seeing here that she was on the bandwagon against ZHH and XZ- confirms that I continue to not give her an ion of salt.

Allen Ren explained in his interview that he chose to put his hands in his pockets like that because he felt it was awkward to be walking with them just by the sides. If he held them back, that's what they did in the ancient period so it didn't match the republican times. So he thought having hands in his pockets seem more suitable and adds a bit charisma on Lu Yan

On Thousand Years for You Sep 29, 2022
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fijf6txI_O0 Here is an interview with Allen Ren released yesterday. No Eng subs. In it, he explores his character as Lu Yan and expresses what I've always seen in Allen Ren on variety/reality shows- he is a very humourous person and laughs at himself a lot. He is absolutely not a cold or shy person. He was asked during the interview if Lu Yan loved Yun Shi or Deng Deng? He said that if this show only had one absolute certainty, it's Yun Shi. He said Lu Yan loves Yun Shi and whatever reincarnation she becomes, he would protect her. And he clarified that Lu Yan didn't start to genuinely care for Deng Deng until he got confirmation that she was Yun Shi's reincarnation.

To some viewers- the debate on whether he loves Deng Deng for who she is- Allen Ren's answer may disappoint them. And if the show were to explore this indepth, we can see a possible 'break up' where Deng Deng questions that Lu Yan cares for her because of her soul and not who she has become. Perhaps a bit of a critique here but I found the part where Deng Deng discovered she is Yun Shi's reincarnation a bit flat. I expected more of internal conflict realizing that she's not human and she has yet to come to her senses that the Spirit people are her people and she has a duty to protect them, etc. That seem to have fallen onto Lu Yan- granted because he has the power now but still, she is wandering abouts as if they are just a different race of people - not a threat but not a friend either.

Key takeaway from the interview is that Allen Ren explained some of his choice of acting, why his hands are often in his pockets, why does he do a little side head tweak motion and how he understands Lu Yan as someone who is completely alone without real friends (unlike Deng Deng) who has a whole party of them and it's like he exists as just himself. Even if you can't understand it, just watch it as his body language tells you a lot about who he is. A simple and a happy guy!

There is a lot of unnecessary hate on here. I see certain posts from people who hate it, but somehow was still watching it for days to comment. A certain scene that was rehearsed numerous times and obviously with the approval of the female co-star is seen as a giant SH. Is it still SH if there are kissing scenes, a hug, hand holding? Oh no...those are acceptable because it's part of the script.

It means absolutely nothing that a drama gets removed means it was terrible. Think about all of Zhang Zhe Han's shows. He was canceled. Think about certain BL dramas that got removed despite the popularity. Thankfully, I can find the whole series elsewhere and will finish it.
