And I think so too. I think LBY took the punishment on because he is her fiancée and so naturally, anytime she screws up, he bears the punishment. In the past, when CSS got into trouble, she is the one that personally suffers. Think back to when her mother had her 'whipped' when she pulled the bridge falling stunt. But the problem is, she is too stubborn to learn those lessons so when someone else is suffering in her stead, that's when it will hit her. Her own pain, she can handle but for others to pay for her choices, that's where it will drive it in her. Better understand this sooner rather than later.

Omg it was like 10x worst. CSS really has a long way to go to grow up. Again, just because she is smart, she is being arrogant about it. She barely knows the royal family long enough and already gets herself involved in their long standing conflict as if they needed saving and she is their savior. This type of character can rub people off the wrong way so I hope there isn't a prolong version of this portrayal.

CSS is playing with fire. Her usual antics at getting back at women who tease her and cause her grief works fine outside of the royal family. But in the royal family, such antics can be met with a higher price to pay- not just humiliation. Again, this will be her learning opportunity and judging by the trailer for ep 37-38, my guess is that her scheming will backfire and it's not her that pays for it.

I don't know why it's so funny. He couldn't just escort her himself but there is armoured guards forced to wake up as early as she needs to. It's like modern day GS4 escorting a high priority client.

Never seen a fiance escort to studies before. How lovely the entire escort (guards) are up early for this. I just laughed at the idea of these morning work shifts. lol And then showing them as day in and day out with LBY yawning on his horse. I love this!

Not punishment. The people that treated CSS bad aren't subjected to the boot camp (thinks grandmother). It's LBY's way of making sure her family was stronger and can protect themselves. I laughed in the beginning and then the 'horse riding' scene in ep 27. I burst out uncontrollably..poor Wu Lei. Hope his back was protected from Lusi doing her riding moves. LOL

Ep 27 opening..the more I look at it, the more I see it as the modern day family workouts. When CSS heard she has to do it for 1 hour, it's like me when I see a YT workout that's an hour long.

Boot camp with LBY. Not even CSS' mother drove her family into boot camp mode. This will be epic.

Wu Lei mentioned this scene (carriage) during one of his interviews. He said that his character was learning to understand what it meant to have a harmonious relationship. We can expect mistakes from him as with CSS. Her wanting to live as herself and not be subjected to rules by others (is admirable and desired in our current century) but not in their time. She needs to learn to also work with LBY but we will get there. Both sides are suppose to learn from each other to become better versions of themselves. What I hate about any relationship is one side doing all the compromising and changing. I hope we see CSS putting her effort in as well.

Yuan Shen is basically like the gossiping/jealous women around CSS. The part where he basically cursed LBY to a short life span irked me. He added his 2 cents on casting judgment on CSS who finds him so utterly annoying. I would be annoyed to if someone spoke to me as if they knew anything about it.

Honestly, it was a very difficult situation. LBY's proposal + asking for the emperor to act as his 'elder' to seek the hand of marriage left CSS' parents without a choice but to accept it. If they didn't and they tried but had to tread very carefully, they would be charged with defying the emperor's order. So they tried to get the emperor to rescind his order by saying all terrible things about CSS so that the emperor would 2nd guess the decision. However, the emperor doesn't care as much as whether he thinks CSS is a proper bride to be, LBY's choice matter above everyone else. You can say that LBY is smart in doing this in front of the emperor so that CSS' family didn't have a choice but also confident that CSS will agree. There was a moment where he was so sad hearing how her parents object to the proposal. But as we all know, just because a proposal is granted, things can happen and marriage doesn't happen. At this time, CSS still doesn't have romantic feelings for LBY and it will be a treat to watch how he wins her heart. He's just got her hand for now...

We are going to get scenes where the Queen bonds with CSS and she finally gets what a mother's love should be like. Just the first meeting with the Queen, the Queen liked her for being true and honest. Sad part about CSS's mother is not seeing CSS's beautiful personality and would rather prefer her cousin who is so meek and silent that you often forgot she was even standing there.

I think that LBY didn't care if what her mother said was true. What mattered to him the most, he said it clearly to everyone as a giant "so what? So what if she is rebellious and unteachable. She is the perfect match for me! Me!" That's what really matters.

They literally drove CSS away when he just wanted to spend some quality alone time with her. To think the guests uninvited and then insult the only person he cared for, he could of said worst things.

Maybe it's Cheng Yi's 11th reincarnation (following Love and Redemption) but with Yang Zi and not Crystal Yuan, haha. I wonder if there is any elements of Ancient Love Poetry.

I'll add that Yuan Shen's character is not new. He's very prideful and he's used to having a flock of women chase after him. CSS is the opposite. She doesn't even give him a starring moment that that's what irks him. He barely knew her and yet, he wanted to court her. CSS has seen too many prideful men and women that Yuan Shen doesn't even stand out.
