I agree with you. The producers are really ruining the show. This explanation you just gave makes perfect sense…
That’s ridiculous, liking him or not you should follow the source material and if SRQ is the villain then he’s the villain, you don’t get to do a flip it, I mean if you wanna give him a redemption arc then sure but not to elevate his character…… it’s so bad cause I do like the dynamics of the leads but it’s annoying when the people who did the show are biased like that
I think the banquet scene today needed bit of explanation here cuz show cut important details,The whole premise…
I saw many people initially praising the show for following the novel but wow after episode 23 it’s like the show took a 180 degree turn ! Thank you for the explanation from the novel which made so much more sense and I would have loved to see SRQ get chewed out by his own father for hitting on a married women (who he claims to do it in order to protected her and his family )
Overall like what most people here said, even though it was a full length series the production felt like a mini…
2 main things really struck me as deep messages from this show Firstly was on the topic of racism and elitism, we can see in the royal court how the noble ladies looked down on FL cause she was from Dongyu a tribal group ( despite being a princess (and of higher rank for them) and how their people were actually sold as slaves and not able to hold legal business. When the FL confronted the ML about how harshly the court treated her even though she was a princess and how her people must have been suffering even more and the ML was stunned, for all his good efforts to bring peace he was still a princes and I guessed he never imagined exactly how difficult it was for the Dongyu people
Secondly was the cousin princess (gosh was she annoying) after not being able to marry the ML she threw a huge tantrum and asked her brother that he always gave her whatever she asked so why this time he was unable to give her the ML, it really make you think like she did ever liked the ML or just wanted him cause it was the 1 thing that she found it hard to obtained.
Also I dont get where the directors where heading by randomly throwing in the South General as a last minute villain wanting to start a coup and that random Consort Rong ( I think thats her name ?) and even hinting they were in a relationship before like huh what was that about ? It was just so random and didnt really fit with the storyline
Overall like what most people here said, even though it was a full length series the production felt like a mini series but that doesnt mean they skimped on the production, I really appreciated the ethic costumes of the Dongyu people and the ML and FL were seen riding horses quite well and able to show some decent fight scenes.
ML and FL chemistry was alright, they were sweet at time and weren't like awkward with each other but occasionally its like seeing a younger brother and a older sister together cause of the ML baby face. Also I also just learned ML graduated from Drama school just last month so means he was still studying when he was filming series so I dont think its fair to criticise him harshly, for a 1st main role I think he acted alright and he did show improvement.
I think its a good easy show to watch over the week when waiting for your other full length series to air finish If I had 1 major complaint was the amount of annoying side characters from the evil uncle (with his god damn arrogant face) the annoying female cousin (who cant take a hint, like the ML rejected her MULTIPLE times directly and she still wants to be with him, I never understood these girls who want to be with someone who has outright tell them they do not love them) and the South Prince (literally he is so whiny i skipped whenever he came on)
I am gonna add more to spoilers so you can click below to read more. P.S Now I feel like eating spicy lamb skewers after watching this
i seemed to have missed it. Did the girl who poisoned the emperor get punished?
From what I saw nope, she was due to give birth so I am guessing the emperor spared her for the sake of the child and its up to us to imagine what happened
So the favourite streaming site won't upload the ofher 5 episodes tonight then? I will wait to watch ep 20- 24…
IKR ?? I find it so strange usually when the shows release express packages usually the other websites will upload the express packages too but for this show they are like still following the airing schedule. You cant even find the rest of the show raw
In the last episode she dies but after a few days comes back as the pendent needed a tear not blood; everyone…
Well I am glad they got this out anyway instead of forgetting about it and just leaving it in the abyss. Waiting for the 3rd party websites to upload the rest of the episodes but gonna start watching this 1st
Gonna be uploaded on YoYo tomorrow !
