swish vanilla

…the only competent villain so far in this series 🤣🤣

1. Gao Luoqian deflated like a balloon once his protection was gone and he couldn't worm his way out with words anymore.

2. You Longsheng is dumber than a bag of rocks and is only good for carrying seafood.

3. Jiang Dao Hai fails Woodworking Class 101.

4. Han Ji is one adulterous mofo. I'll give him a slight pass 'cause his wife died so he probably was like 'man, f this redemption arc. imma just mess with anjun wang as i did back in S1'
(I see that furniture still hates himーfrom his carriage knocking over his hair bun in S1, to him whacking his foot and hand against a chair in S2)

After watching Ep 22 I have come to the conclusion that You Chen'an is…

How do I even answer this, ermm, they fell in love???

ML is the head of the Three Judicial Offices and FL was applying as a coroner for his office. He admired her skills from the start and she helped him solve important cases. Their wedding was the last ep of S1.

2ML and 2FL are childhood friends of ML (2FL is ML's cousin, too). 2ML has liked 2FL from the start. They also end up together in S1 and get married in a special episode.

so cute! 'lemme sit on your lap real quick' 🤣🤣

Ooh that's cute!! Hope they're happy 😊
How did you find out, by the way?

I love the whole 'dude becomes enraged and ruthless when his girl gets hurt' trope and Wang Ziqi acted it out excellently loool I was kinda shocked like bro chill ✋

But it reminded me so much of S1 and he's as protective and ruthless as ever.

The little detail I noticed was that he seemed to have unique methods of torture lol. In S1, he used the water droplets to torture Chu Chu's uncle. Here in S2, he used fire to torture Gao Luoqian. So, fire and water. Hehe

First time I teared up was when Chu Chu said she dreamt that she and Xiao Jinyu went with her mother and Jinyu's father to Qianzhou and Jinyu's dad healed her 😭😭😭　it was so poignant

EDIT I got eps 20-21 a bit mixed up lol: The other scene I found pretty moving was when Leng Yue snuck in to see Jing Yi and when he told her to leave she was like 'I'm not going anywhere' 🥺

third time I teared up of course when Chu He died cause wth it was so unexpected??? And we all find Chu He annoying but it's not like we wanted him to die lmao so I think the fact that the script gave Chu He this redeeming scene was a good feat. RIP Chu He. I can't believe I'm more shocked by his death than Wu Jiang's, and I liked Wu Jiang more 😅😭

OH MY GOD EPS 20-21 A WHOLE ROLLER COASTER where do i even begin

Ep 20 was peak ep so far. I actually teared up at two different scenes…

For real??? you mean their actors or their characters??? cause I actually shipped them in S1 lololol my shipper senses were right

Chu He's death caught me completely by surprise I shouted while having dinner and my parents who were in the living room were like 'what's wrong' 😭

Nope! The cases in S2 aren't related (so far) to S1. S1 is just important to watch if you wanna know why the main characters are married in the beginning of S2.

Thanks for the links!
Happy watching (:

Not the one you replied to but I got curious. Which Justice Bao and Song Ci dramas do you mean/recommend? Google says there's a Taiwanese Justice Pao drama from 1993 and Witness to a Prosecution 1&2 and Judge of Song Dynasty 1&2 from the early 2000s. I'd possibly like to watch them if they're available cause they seem like classics from 20-30 years ago lol.

As for STOTD I actually started watching as a fan of the genre and it is sadly the most boring case-solving cdrama I've seen so far, I'm surprised people praise it. But if it works for people then that's cool. I just don't feel hooked enough to binge S1 and I'll see if I can finish it or drop it (I'm at ep 28).

There's more of them on YouTube? gosh... (EDIT: I plan to watch #that drama too cause TIC made me a fan of the genre but I'll have no desire to interact with the fandom if they're acting immature smh)

Same. His death was to make sure our cast experiences its own losses, too, but why can't we have a cdrama where no one good dies XD LOL

The scene where Jinyu visits him after he's released ))))))))):

True. I understand people can be disappointed but I don't think it's as irredeemable as the opinions suggest, the franchise is already underrated as is...

different actor but same voice as Senior Jing's voice in S1, so, a recast! I'm glad they finally brought him back, but if they were gonna recast him, he could've appeared earlier gosh XD

WHAT WHAT WHAT DON'T TELL ME IT GETS WORSE???

I kinda disagree with there being a lot of ground to cover, they basically know You Chen'An wasn't innocent so they just need to capture him in the next 1-2 eps then whatever big clash will happen will happen in 3-4 eps then 1 happy ending ep, HOPEFULLY haha

eps 18-19 and our cast still can't catch a break and it isn't being made any better by all these people complaining in the comments
