- finally got the lore on the "Poison Demoness", the third Cai woman mentioned by Zhao Zhao in her introduction in Ep 1
- You Guanyue gloating over Song Yuzhi over the fact that his own brother betrayed him after Yuzhi wrongly accused the demom sect lmaooo yuzhi don't be a prick to your own saviours
- slowburn tension between MQY and Zhao Zhao 🫦 whenever the duet OST starts to play i just know the mood is right 😆
subs aren't perfect and they vanish at some point towards the end but better than nothing! they have another interview which actually has more cute banter between them but i can't find a subbed version on youtube for the life of me, just twitter 😭

Loved what you said here : "What young audiences don't understand is you can't have a happy marriage when people close to you disapprove your relationship with your beloved. Marriage is not only unifying two people, but two families, or in their case, two sects."
I am so frustrated with this lagging plot and the back-and-forth. CZ has had next to no character growth. I do…
I dropped two very popular cdramas partly because I didn't think the female leads showed believable character development and already seemed perfect from the start, just that they had goals to achieve. I got a Mary Sue impression from Cai Zhao from the beginning as well, but since I'm watching this because of Bao Shangen in the first place I had to expect it.
Idk even with recent female centric IPs I don't get why the men still get the better end of the stick. Mu Qingyan and Song Yuzhi have had better treatment of their characters than Cai Zhao and Qi Lingbo. Lingbo's uneven development is particularly prattling.
For all the shit this drama has gotten, it has actually managed to execute well the characterisation of the ML and FL, giving them enough complexity.
ML is the perfect antihero. His motives are actually right, to unify jianghu by uncovering the truth which will result in eradicating those who propagate hypocrisy. But his methods are madness because he doesn't know how to love unconditionally which involves learning to trust people and giving them the right to break his heart when they feel rightfully betrayed by his actions.
FL on the other hand, while she seems like a token good girl, she's not actually as noble as ML. She wants to stay in her comfort zone, a reasonable desire, but when her love for ML challenges her to give up that comfort, she feels compelled to do so, yet not entirely be sold to his ideals. Hence, even when she gives up something for him, she checks herself and backtracks instead of doubling down because she doesn't like what it costs.
She's the one with the messianic complex with regard to the ML, but ML is the one who wants to change the world for the better because he wants her.
as the audience i am rooting for them to just kiss already and square the f up against the man in black who is the actual cause of conflict and evil lol
Beautifully said! Totally agree! Especially the part where you said she wants peace within her world, but he wants…
That had been my biggest question too as someone who didn't read the novel. Why would she save him if she was gonna leave him afterwards? Is it because she was hurt by his scheming?
If her reason is because she wanted him to trust others and not be dependent on her, it makes sense and would be an interesting take on a messianic complex but it also needs to be delivered/executed well. Otherwise, people will just think they're breaking up for the same reason again.
OK so I'm kinda confused and don't know who to believe about something…
Is Nie Zhe's son, Si'en, really his son XD like the mama claimed it was his, but both Elder Yu and Si'en had the same mark so what's that supposed to mean???
I agree with those who said tonight's episodes were amazing???? omg i'm surprisingly pleased???? i was already spoiled by the teasers so i thought i'd just be like 'that's that' but damn i'm kinda speechless 🤧
The angst I've seen in xianxia dramas has never reached this kind of…genuineness??? and i've seen enough popular ones. all those mortal arcs, deaths, separations feel kinda like a cloak you can't wait to shrug off. here, it feels like the angst that makes you want to wait it out till the end. 🥺
How many times do you watch that kiss??Embarrassing times, YES! 😂🤭The chair kiss was already #1 fave scene…
"What makes it even better, the kiss is said not to what it was planned in the script, but improvised by our lead actors 👏🏻💕" -> whaaaat?! source please!

I feel like we haven’t had a proper “love at first sight” cdrama in a while as it’s been mostly revenge stuff or arranged marriages. I’m seated ‼️
I found Song Weilong’s acting a bit unnatural compared to hers but I loved the show regardless.
Love her too as Cai Zhao in Generation to Generation
