I totally agree with you as a fan of love and redemption . I believe it would have been better if they didn't make our expectation high by mentioning the romance arc . I think if they made FL as someone who was indebt to ML and she was attracted to ML in platonic way and if they made FL and ML as journey mates in their journey of cultivation and in their fights against black spirit, it would have been a great drama .

For me , “Love and Redemption” has been the best romance drama for Cheng Yi . Unfortunately, his recent drama choices are not romance dramas , so I don't think we'll ever get another masterpiece like that .

You're right and I also believe that their souls disappeared together. I don't see a happy ending for this drama because it was painful to see that FL ended that way due to unreciprocated love and ML was sacrificed by his burden and duties.
I think ML has never loved FL and it's true that they had a special relationship, but we can call it anything other than love . ML is the sword to kill black spirit and he dedicated his life to serve wangquan family and the sword's mission . FL loved ML deeply and she was the symbol of person who can do anything for her beloveds (ML+ her brother). Through her power of love , she helped ML to fulfill his life's goal. So , the meaning behind the title would be that ML used his sword and one sided love of FL love to him as tools to get rid of the power of hatred (evil black spirit).
I'm confused as most of the people after ep 3 . She loves Do ha , but she kissed do-yeoung by mistake ?Then she confessed her feeling to do ha ,who pretended to be do yeoung that she loves do ha ? I'm planning seriously to write one, when I have the resources . I think anyone ,who has been watching dramas for too long , can write a good novel , which can be adapted to drama . I think the purpose of this site is to write our opinions about the dramas , which can be liked by some people or disliked by others, however without personal attack and sarcasm . Concerning this drama , I like both leads and I enjoyed other dramas they had .For the script , I'm not the first one or the last one to criticize it . However, I've never mentioned that this is a bad drama or I rated it low because I can't judge drama based on first eps .For the moment , this drama still has some potential to be an enjoyable drama .
What I love the most about this drama is not the romance , but the given lesson ,which is lacking in nowadays dramas and that lesson is that the horrible traumatizing childhood isn't an excuse to make someone turn into monster or psycho . The key to better future is the choice they made on the crossroads.
My explanations for the ending are as the following: -ML and FL had the life , that they deserved -shen cheng could be the adoptive son of FL of the original timeline because she loved ML so much and it's hard to imagine her marrying someone else. Also she volunteered to the orphanage for years . The father of shen could have married FL because she adopted his lost son. In the new timeline and according to the picture in the credit , cheng is the son of both main leads , so he didn't disappear and he is now Tang cheng . -Yu nian is living a good life based on her bedroom, which means that she met someone who helped her after her grandma death . That person could be ML or someone else, who was brought to her life due to her good karma. -Yu nian and Shen cheng are destined to meet and I believe the new mailbox could be their new way to contact each other . At the end, there is a man who received a letter from red mailbox and he looks like shen cheng . Both Yu and Shen remember the original timeline , so for sure they will meet thanks to that red mailbox. Good people bring good karma.
I had high expectations for this drama😥, it would have been better if FL wasn't his wife or if she was a mysterious woman who has nothing to do with his wife or if she was the left minister lost daughter with similar face to ML's wife . Anyway , I'll give it try until ep 6 , hopefully there would be some stuffs which can make this story intriguing.
