HELP! This show has me in a choke hold. I can't remember being this obsessed with a drama before. Maybe the early days of the hallyu wave, like Coffee Prince? But then I didn't have to wait for new episodes to drop. Everything about this drama is excellently done. Recently, I've noticed a shift to mature love stories in kdramas - everyone is eating it up and rightly so. No offense to young love (teens & 20s) but I'd really like to see more dramas that feature a 30s/40s love story with mature characters and plots. For me, this show is the best one yet this year (for mature love plots). ML is a whole ass green forest,ha!
Came here to rave about this drama. Legend of Shenli is now inducted into my personal cdrama hall of fame! What a ride from start to finish and well paced too. And that last episode.... just chef's kiss. All dramas should take a page on how to end a drama in a way that leaves the viewers with stars and hearts in their eyes.
I just have 4 WORDS. THAT STREET POLE-DANCING SCENE!!! That scene will never not be funny to me. Just wanted to ask, was that really Greg Hsu or was a body double used for that scene? Great movie all around. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. Wonderful cast with great acting!
2 episodes in and I'm with the majority that this drama is quite bland. Even the comedy is not giving. I guess WWWSK still holds the top spot in office rom com, not even BP could touch it. I was really hoping this one would be IT but nope, just another generic and boring premise. It's saving grace is Lee Jun ho. P. S. Can he please pick roles/scripts like RS that showcase the full range of his acting skills, not ones like this where he is just a pretty face?
LLTG, BEST 2022 DRAMA!!! Possibly one of the best cdramas ever.
Sidenote: Can I just say, cdramas really dominated this year. Even though we had kdramas like Attorney Woo & the rest, they were still no match for dramas like LLTG, LBFAD & WRTW. Great job, c-ent. It's been a spectacular year for cdramas.
Possibly one of the best cdramas I've ever seen. Everything about LLTG was phenomenal. The 2 main leads were just outstanding in their portrayal of the main characters. It's rare to see actors their age who have such range, I'm beyond impressed. It's so hard to move on from this one but I'll be on the lookout for Lusi & Lei's next projects. BEST 2022 DRAMA hands down, no competition!
Okay folks, just finished this. I gotta say, that ending was kinda underwhelming and anticlimactic. After all that, they gave up the throne to enjoy the final 10 years together?! After all that plotting and wars and innocent lives lost... I could go on about all that was sacrificed for the 'world ruler' ambition. Also that white hair, 10years life span thing is so overdone in cdramas. Say NO to stale troupes! Overall the ending was very lackluster for me. Now the bad is out of the way, let me say I really did enjoy this drama. The battle scenes were epic, one of the best I've seen in cdramaland so far. The romance between the leads was well done too, no unnecessary ish... Loved the plot except for that ending (but then thats nothing new with cdramas). Would highly recommend. Even preferred this to TLB (I couldn't get past 10 episodes, no hate though) and I think it's far superior to TLB, for those who are comparing.

He cracks me up everything he says this after killing someone.
