"Moving on after a great loss means knowing that there are people by your side."
It's been a long time since I watched a drama like this. There were so many lessons and tears throughout these 12 episodesβ12 episodes of just the right length. I think I cried a lot more because I identified with many things in this drama. I will probably watch it again. There is some office drama, but it gets resolved quickly. There's a mild love triangle that also ends very quickly; I wouldn't even call it a love triangle, really. It's a drama about adults living their daily lives, each with their own problems and frustrations. I've been wanting to watch a drama with Yu Fan for a long time. He's an actor I like a lot, just like ZhouY Tong (I liked her even more after watching "Flowers in Spring"). She was perfect in both dramas, and this drama reminds me a bit of that one.
There were a few things I didn't like much, such as the end of episode 5 and the personality of Sun Qian (a personal dislike of this type of character), so I skipped some of her scenes... but I must say that in the last episodes, she grew a lot, and I stopped skipping her scenes. Haha
I watched it on YouTube. The audio was a bit bad, but after the first two episodes, I confess I would watch it even without sound.
The first drama with Gong Jun that I managed to finish, and I confess I insisted on this one because of Diralba and also because many people praise this drama. But I ended up forcing myself to finish it.
I liked seeing them clearly in love with each other and knowing that they were aware of it, but also knowing that they couldn't be together at that moment.
I liked the friendship among the four protagonists.
A good point was that the emperor was not as idiotic as in some other dramas. He was actually quite good.
Something I didn't like, and if it had been at the beginning I would have given up, are the war scenes. Very weak.
Do you think it's worth watching this series? I really liked Xu Kai latest work, but I know that in some of his other roles he made me frustrated. And I've never watched anything with the lead actress. In general, I like dramas with strong protagonists who don't cry because of the male lead.
I'm quite reluctant to watch this second season. I already finished the first one reluctantly hoping for something good; there was something good that surprised me in the last episode, but I couldn't stand that love triangle anymore, especially because of the strength XY showed initially as a man and then as a woman.
It seems like the second season will be her chasing after a guy who is already married and didn't have the strength to give up everything to be with her (to me, he's just a spineless guy) plain and boring. Just when I thought she had moved on, here she comes in this second season insisting on the guy! The trailer alone made me furious. I probably won't watch it and I'll pretend I never watched it.
This series was so delightful to watch, it fills your heart, and many times I was reminded of my hometown. I cried a few times... Besides the laughter, there are also emotional and sad episodes (get your tissues ready for episode 7). The ending is very happy, and the post-credits scene, don't miss it and finish with a warm heart.
i'm very confused by the airing schedule tbh, has wetv posted any like official schedule or anything ?
I'm also confused, first they started posting one episode per day and today they posted three episodes. Should I expect three for tomorrow or be disappointed with just one? I really wish there was a schedule
For those in the future who are unsure about watching... Watch it, this drama is wonderful, the cast is incredible, and you will see the personal growth of each character. In the end, you will feel proud of how the family stays united and that being kind is worthwhile. The ending is happy, but it's not rushed; it's almost like an episode showing everyone's happy ending. Watch it.
The emperor deserves this death. The 6th prince will be a great emperor.I'm sad for Rong, she was a good girl,…
Showing how much Madame Xia has evolved since episode 1 is impressive!! All the women untangled the beliefs that had been tied to them since birth and became strong, independent women. It was beautiful to see <3
From episodes 35 to 39, I didn't think it was bad, but I found it weak; I expected more...I think HZ's niece's death was so unnecessary; they could have conveyed the weight of the situation differently. I liked seeing how other merchants and people helped her when she needed it. I found the time they spent building the dam very weak; there was too much drama surrounding it for it to end that way and then jump to another drama. The other niece becoming a widow, she was really clever. In the last episode, I liked that they reserved at least 25 minutes for the conclusion. I liked and got emotional with GX meeting HZ's grandfather, and also the family reunion, and then showing how the women grew up and became independent.
After that farewell in episode 5, I imagined he would die, and that would be what made her return to the town. There were only a few episodes with him, but he will be missed. And from the teaser of episode 7, we know we're going to cry rivers.
Seriously, guys, watching one episode per day is killing me!!! Haha This drama is so good to watch that I would watch all the episodes in a single day!!

For passing the time, this drama is okay.

Is the heroine annoying and useless?
Is there romance?
