It’s been at least two years since I stopped regularly watching K-dramas because of their endings and the nonsense in the final episodes. I found the premise of “Our Universe” interesting, and look how terrible it turned out. And now this drama, which in the first two episodes seemed like it was going to be good… but I can’t stand the female lead anymore. I can’t stand this drama anymore, seriously! It leaves me with no hope for future K-dramas. Nowadays, I only watch C-dramas.

You should hold off. I'll watch 9-12 and I'll come back and let you know. Lol. The teasers for 9-12 look really…
Thank you so much for coming back here and telling me what happened! 🙂🙂
I’ll do as you suggested: since I have Thursday and Friday off work, I’ll start watching it again on Wednesday. I hope we’ll know more by episode 16. I’m watching two other dramas, so I can wait a few more days before coming back to this one.

After considering dropping after 2 episodes, Ep 3 surprised me in every ways possible! what an intense episode…
I’m exactly on the second episode and I’m also thinking about giving up, so I came here to see if there was any interesting information and came across your comment. So I’m going to finish this second episode and the third one as well.

I actually think the rest of the drama is okay, but I understand what you said about that scene, it did make me want to skip ahead a few parts. My biggest issue is really the screen time given to the main characters.
Could you come back here after episode 12 and tell me how it went? You can even send spoilers (I like them 😄).
Thank you :) :) :)

This drama isn’t bad, but I’m very torn between continuing it now or putting it on hold and waiting for more episodes and comments to see if it’s really worth it.
It’s been a long time since I watched something with this actress. The first Chinese drama I watched with her was in 2017, alongside Deng Lun, which was almost 9 years ago. Since then, I haven’t followed any of her other works, so I started this drama mainly because of the FL. The problem is that her screen time is extremely limited. We’re already on episode 8, and so far the FL barely appears, which has been bothering me a lot especially since I started this drama because of her.
Another negative point is the 2 FL. Her character is very irritating.
As for the ML, I’m personally not a fan. I’ve never managed to continue any of his dramas I usually watch one or two episodes and then drop them.

Regarding the story, I think the FL is an undercover police officer. I also have the impression that the son of the policeman and the restaurant owner might be another undercover police officer. This suspicion came up after a photo appeared, and I tried to associate him with one of the men who work alongside the FL, but I couldn’t identify him for sure.

In the end, I’m thinking about putting this drama on hold, letting more episodes pile up, and seeing how the story develops before deciding whether to continue or not.

Where can I find this drama? I have almost all the paid platforms Viki, Youku, iQIYI and still I haven’t found this drama. Does anyone know?

Why something bad happeend with the casts?
What happened is that the Yasukuni Shrine in Japan is a very sensitive place for Chinese people because it honors several Japanese military figures, including some who are considered war criminals from World War II.
I read somewhere that a Japanese general, who was the commander-in-chief of the troops that captured Nanjing in 1937, is also honored at this shrine.
Did he know about this, or was his mistake just not knowing the history? It’s hard to tell.

I am just at episode six, so I don’t know what is coming. This may be because of cultural differences, but something…
In Chinese culture, respect and obedience toward one’s parents are deeply rooted values, based on the concept of filial piety (孝, xiào). This means that children are expected to honor and care for their parents, even when it requires personal sacrifice. That’s why, in many stories, a character may feel obligated to fulfill a duty for the sake of the family or to protect their parents’ honor, such as entering an arranged marriage or repaying a family debt.
In ancient China (during the Han, Tang, and Qing dynasties), filial piety (孝, xiào) was not only a moral value but also a legal obligation.

Has ML already recovered all her memories? If so, do you remember which episode that happens in? I think I only watched up to episode 6.
Thanksss ;) :)

I really like the ML and FL, they are two of my favorites. I also enjoy the SML, and I’d love to see him in more dramas. The ML’s gaze is truly impressive he can express so many emotions just through his eyes.
The first eight episodes were excellent and kept me engaged. The only part that might make me drop this drama is the memory loss storyline, since it’s a theme I usually don’t enjoy. I gave it a chance because of the cast, but if this plotline is prolonged, I will probably stop watching.

Just finished episode 14.
I've gained a certain respect for Meng Huai Jin; the guy kept his composure at all times... as smart as Shen Zai Ye. It's a shame that the crown prince (his cousin) was so foolish and dumb. If Meng were from another family, he would have been very successful!
