This is my first time I see a Japanese GL drama. Are there others? Or this is the first one? I like Japanese BLs the most, so I have high expectations for J-GLs too.
No.... The MOM knows that FL wants to start the family matters from the childhood..... So, MOM let the FL to escape…
I like your theory. This could be Mom's plan to give our FL a weakness she can control. But also watch her potential as a future leader on her own (the kid's training, how she handle the bad guys). The FL refused to hurt people for real during the training, but after what happened to her family she start to cause real pain (lobotomy) and was ready to kill for real (she was only stopped by the police officer). So I think this really was the Mom's test.
Why did Do Hui say that he couldn't understand him this time? Does he think that Ju Yeong hit/provoked his dad? But why say that he was going to call him again and then disappear for 12 years...? I have no idea what to think.
It took 34 chapters of Webtoon for her kick out form theatre and they finished it in 4 episodes of drama, ssly…
They're cutting EVERYTHING. Important characters and plot points. There's no real growth, either. In the show her Bang Ja is what? about learning how to dance funny? Idk, they just skipped the whole gender roles commentary and her understanding of the role for nothing. And what is her mom doing there just to add pointless drama...? sigh.
i expected a bit better ngl i see the overdone tropes that korea constantly produce for teenage kdramas but make…
I was expecting something different too. I read a few chapters of the webtoon before watching episode 1, and there are changes that didn't work for me.
I don't like how dramatic the overly drama made everything (especially the mom). And I didn't like this... Disney vibe? with the genius main character that has this private training and us here to prove that she's better to a bunch of kids who hate her for no reason (like you said, it felt like a teen drama).
I think I would've preferred if they kept it lighter. And if Jeongnyeong had got there by her own means (girl was determined and resourceful) like in the webtoon. And have things progress slower...
That was a mature and different ending, I get it, but it was very unsatisfying for a closing episode. It didn’t…
I think that's too blame in the translators of the titles. Because this show is called FamilyXMelo (literal translation) so this never was a romance drama, it's a family drama.
It's kind of like a family long period drama and this kind of dramas last for even like 50 episodes so 36 episode…
It is a weekender (long family drama that airs on the weekend). It's just that it seems like they're reducing the air time from 50 to 36 episodes from now on.
And I'm rooting for Hee Su's growth journey too!

Thanks!!
