Honestly, even from S1, I don't get why Do Yun Wan hates Teacher Kim so much? Like I get that Teacher Kim has different values and Do Yun Wan is shady and doesn't like that, but for what other reason? He's been hellbent on destroying Teacher Kim since the beginning, from way back in S1 when Teacher Kim refused to push back other patients' surgeries to operate on the President's wife or whatever. Maybe even before then, considering the number of ghost surgeries they did using Teacher Kim's name. Do they have some history we don't know about that wasn't touched on in S1?
Ngl Eun Jae has been pretty annoying so far and if it wasn't for Lee Sung Kyung playing her character, I might've just skipped all her scenes. She refuses to acknowledge her faults and uses excuses/lashes out on people despite knowing the dangers of her actions.
However episode 4 seems like a slow start to her character development, and with Dr. Bae secretly taking away her pills, I hope she'll find a way to overcome her anxiety in the OR with Master Kim's guidance.
took me a minute to figure out why the director and the snake gold guy (ep 12) looked so familiar, it's bc they played good guy cop partners in all three seasons of Voice
the ending made me bawl my eyes out even though I knew from episode one that I shouldn't expect a happy ending…
I wanted to hate Bang-won for what he did to Hwi but I couldn't. He's such a complex character, and I really do think he deserved the title of Crown Prince when Joseon was first established considering that he contributed the most, and did much of the dirty work his father didn't want to do. He's a lonely conqueror but fair in a way, and it's Yi Seung Gye's lack of recognition for Bang-won's efforts and his greed to remain in control of the throne that drove his family apart. Also, he was the one who ordered Bang-won to kill Hwi's father - Seo Geom mentions fathers who use their sons to do their dirty work - so it's aggravating how Seung Gye painted Bang-won to be the sole perpetrator when he was the one who made the call.
Yang Sejong, Woo Dohwan, and Jang Hyuk did such an amazing job. I really want to see them star together in a crime thriller drama in the future :)))
Can anyone explain the scene near the end between the King and Yul Mu? What did the King mean that he let Yul Mu live bc he didn't want to "become a father who killed his innocent son twice"? Could it be that he found out Nokdu was still alive, or someone told him the truth about the revolt 9 years ago?
ngl I don't really want Si Won to end up with either of the male leads. Aside from his serious dependency issues, Pa Rang is super immature/childish. He's sloppy and can't think for himself, and isn't very considerate of other people's feelings. Si Won seems more like an older sister/motherly figure than a romantic interest. It's understanding that Pa Rang cherishes their friendship a lot bc she's always been there for him, but I don't think he's ever seriously considered romance with her on a deeper level.
On the other hand, Si Eun is fully aware of his feelings for Si Won and while he might mean well, it's hard to ignore how manipulative he is, trying to be to get her to fall for him.
(in conclusion Geon the only decent guy, i said what i SAID)
this was an amazing drama! So many twists and turns - I hated Jessica so much for what she did, but I have to admit it was pretty cool how after the truth came out she took Hae Ri under her wing, Same with Dal Geon teaming up with Lily. I really hope there's a season 2, I wanna see them meet again and take down Edward. There's no confirmation for a new season yet, but I don't think they'd just end it like this...right? There's way too many loose ends.
kinda irks me how Yi Seung Gye said that those who covet the throne wielding swords must be punished, considering that's exactly how he got the throne. I can't say everything Bang-won did was right since so many innocent lives were lost in his revolution, but I can understand where his anger stems from - Yi Seung Gye hardly acknowledges his contribution in the finding of Joseon. He gave the dirty work to Bang-won, and casts him aside when he became the King :(((
I think it's because she despises the King (i.e. when she said he deserved a more painful death) and thinks that…
I agree! I think her decision was driven by her emotions more than anything, though I have a feeling the palace people she told might step up and reveal the truth to the king (or at least I hope they do...)
I had to go back & re watch this one scene. If the Queen Dowager don't want Yool Mu to be king, why did she go…
I think it's because she despises the King (i.e. when she said he deserved a more painful death) and thinks that framing Nokdu into this villain who was trying to steal his throne, which was his biggest fear, would bring him the most pain. Especially if he finds out afterwards that Nokdu was actually trying to protect his throne from Yul Mu. :(((
I miss Kwang Soo mainly bc I found his moments the funniest in season 1, but this season really didn't disappoint otherwise! Adding Seung Gi was a great choice. This season kept me on my toes with all the little twists and I found just as entertaining as season 1. Hoping for season 3 :)))
The ending was so rushed and kind of random, it felt like the writers weren't sure exactly what to put into episode 15 and then just crammed all their remaining ideas into episode 16. There were some loose ends that could've been properly wrapped up - like what ended up happening with the cryogenic technology now that they've fixed the flaw? How's the chairman and his twin brother doing now? The evil twin's right hand man?, etc.
After watching the most recent episode it just seems like this drama is desperately trying to grab onto anything to fill up the remaining episodes. Everything about this drama feels so anti-climatic. The antagonist barely had any substance, and you would think for the amount of effort he supposedly put in to secure his place as his twin brother, his "you got caught!" moment would be more exciting but it was....not. I didn't even feel satisfied lmao it just felt meh. Ngl Ha Young annoyed me more the the "villain" did :((( This drama had so much potential plot-wise and such a solid cast, but the messy writing really ruined it.
However episode 4 seems like a slow start to her character development, and with Dr. Bae secretly taking away her pills, I hope she'll find a way to overcome her anxiety in the OR with Master Kim's guidance.
