so this painting is confusing me, how did Sung Joon get it and what did it mean when he gave it to Hyang Jae?…
to my understanding the painting Sung Joon had is the real one, which he took from Hyun Min's gallery and gave to Hyang Jae (to try to lure him on his side later to use against Do Joon). the one that the grandma had was a duplicate from Sim Gallery, which she left along with the note in the coin locker (since antique painting transactions can't be traced)
this drama gives me eerie Save Me vibes and I can't figure anybody out. Aside from Young Jin, Jae Hong, and maybe Sun Woo, everyone seems so suspicious or like they're hiding something big. I wasn't expecting the killer to die so early on, though it seems likely that someone will continue in his place, or there's someone else involved???
i'm so scared geun soo is going to keep clinging onto that shred of false hope yi seo gave him and just turn into a huge asshole working under his dad in hopes of taking over the company - he was so sweet before, pls don't ruin him T_T we finally got rid of geun won's toxicity, geun soo doesn't need to replace him :// i really really really hope he doesn't out hyun yi just next episode, that's unforgivable
When Saeroyi got into trouble, his dad gave up everything to stand by him and the decision he made. When Geunwon got into trouble, his dad lured him into a false sense of security only to pin everything on him....how bitter Geunwon must feel now. Why couldn't he have just lived an honest life?
Yi seo's apology to Geun Soo was heartbreaking tho. I felt SO bad for him this entire episode. He's so genuine.
I agree! Though I'd hardly call it an apology. She wasn't being "ambiguous" in the last episode - she straight up told Geun Soo that she while liked Saeroyi, feelings are shallow and fickle and she wasn't "crazy" about him, so that's why Geun Soo still had a chance. I'm glad though she set it straight with him instead of stringing him along, but I really don't think Geun Soo was expecting anything from her regardless. It's heartbreaking bc they're friends and/or at least coworkers, yet she kinda just treats him like he's a huge bother and is just straight up rude at times. I get that she has sociopathic tendencies, but she could at the very least try to be decent when she is fully capable of being so.
Geun Soo's apology to Sae Ro Yi was heartbreaking :(( He's well aware of the grief and emotional trauma his family can cause and the malicious things they're capable of through firsthand experience, so he has a greater understanding of all the shit they've put Sae Ro Yi through. He genuinely apologized even though he took no part in any of it and it was so sad when he cried T_T
Geun Soo is such a good person - I really hope he finds his place of belonging with the DanBam family. And while it's infuriating seeing how Geun Won and the Chairman treat him, it's also kinda upsetting to see how Yi Seo treats him. Not saying she owes him anything romantically, but they're friends. She's a strong character but sometimes I find she's unnecessarily harsh. Looks like her typical dismissive attitude towards him is gonna backfire next episode :///
It's awful but Kang Ik Joon's death on the operating table was necessary in showing Director Park the very real consequences of neglecting to do what's right for the patient, though I'm still unsure about whether or not he's upset over the fact that he caused a patient to die, or bc that patient was a VIP and he just jeopardized his career. I wonder what the limit of his greed is, with only two episodes left and Do Yun Wan's threat dangling over his head - will he finally redeem himself?
Kinda warming up to Dr. Shim. She's cold, but she still tries to keep the patient's best interest in mind. Seeing her so desperate to save Kang Ik Joon was heartbreaking bc her regret was so evident, but seeing the preview they might be pinning the death on her :(
Is that guest in the next episode...Do In Beom??? His back looks familiar (episode 10).
It's astonishing how Dr. Yang doesn't feel completely pathetic getting treated like some obedient dog by Director Park. He's so ignorant, with no opinion of his own so he just follows orders all the time. Honestly I feel like he hates himself, but he takes it out on Woo Jin and Eun Jae - he can't exactly talk back to Director Park, so he bottles it all up and settles for releasing his anger on those younger than him. Ugh.
So Hyun Jae planned everything all along, huh? I'm so excited to see him in action! Ngl, seeing how he was able to deduce all the sounds and profile when he was "blind" and "wheelchair-bound" was pretty cool and something I've never seen Jang Hyuk do before in these action-thriller dramas, but it was unrealistic in how accurate he was every single time, so I'm all here for that twist.
I'm glad the killer wasn't revealed so early on, it keeps me curious on how and why they're targeting Hyun Jae. I can't help but feel like Chief Choi might be connected somehow - after all, he did claim that the Peppermint Killer died 5 years ago, so it's either he did it for the sake of his career, or he's trying to cover something up - or maybe both.
It's a happy ending! Makes me a bit sad though knowing the NK squad and the village ladies probably won't see Seri again, and that Seri and Jeong Hyuk only get to be together for 2 weeks every year. But everyone is reunited with their families, and continuing on with their own lives, so all is well. I feel so sad for Dan cuz I really thought some kdrama magic was gonna save Seung Jung, but unfortunately not :(. But she'd been a strong and independent character throughout the show, so her aiming to live her best single life without a man makes the ending fitting.
I really wanted to see Se Hyung and his snake (soon to be ex) wife in jail, or at least in court. Just the expression they have on their face when they get their sentence would've been SO satisfying to see after all the shit they pulled, but I guess the writers didn't want to drag that whole thing on.
I'm gonna miss this drama so much, the post-drama depression is real T_T
Sae Ro Yi:
Sae Ro Yi: *buys building*
Sae Ro Yi: lmao
