I think we're looking at different things here. You're talking about a man's right to choose who he marries based on his standards, and I agree with that in principle... everyone has them. But my point wasn't about his personal preference as that's not what making him a "silly man".
My 'silly' comment was less about his potential preferences and more about the fact that he clearly didn't want to do it but still went along with his mum's extreme demands.
Imo, the show isn't really about his preference, is it? It's about the mother-in-law's overbearing control and the son's inability to stand up to her. The DNA test and the 'innocence' thing were just the tools she used to exert that control and break up their marriage. That's what made it so frustrating to watch.

The cdramas that trend on here tend to be fan flamed idol dramas (as the douban rating never matches and douban is usually lower). So when you have a cdrama thats a 10 you watch it and feel like youve are been gaslighted - but find its common with cdramas. So you approach cdramas with high ratings with....?
Kdramas with a 8 and over 20000 votes tend to be about right imo.

I think he didnt do it. We are shown that he loves her original fl (secret room), he didnt want to marry her just yet ( as he was going to die), she was most likely killed by the 1st prince to be replaced by the new fl ( their own spy).
