Oh, I checked your watched list and thought I filtered out everything you had watched т_т Yeah "My Love Mixe-Up" definetely has more of a youth and friendship vibe then romance… I think it's good to save up for when you are in the mood for something like that :)
I really enjoyed the first 4 episodes, they were unexpectedly hilarious (Akin rating Jin, product placement, "I have a cold"). Later I started losing interest, but still watched till the end because the main couple was just the cuteness overload. And it's funny how Akin was actually the cutest one in the couple, at first I thought it would be the other way around.
This is one of very few thai dramas I have completed without skipping A LOT. It is not perfect, but it is very addicting and enjoyable! Loved both ML. (I've watched uncut version)
I understand some people find ML toxic, but I really connected with how the show portrayed ML and FL’s characters.…
I can’t think of another drama where the ML straight-up tells the nosy second FL to buzz off (twice!) because he’s busy “talking to someone important” (aka the FL). So satisfying.
I understand some people find ML toxic, but I really connected with how the show portrayed ML and FL’s characters. To me, it’s not about them growing or changing much—it’s about them falling deeply in love for the first time. The feelings were so strong they couldn’t resist, even though they knew they shouldn’t get involved. If they could’ve chosen, they probably would’ve avoided the relationship altogether.
Yes, he was harsh with her at first, saying some unkind things when they were alone. But I saw that as him trying to keep his distance, like he was afraid of losing control and jumping into something he thought shouldn’t happen. In public, though, he never acted ashamed of her. He made it clear to everyone that she mattered to him, despite her “poor” appearance. So his arc is really about shifting from focusing only on himself to caring more about her. Beyond that, his character doesn’t change much, and I’m okay with that. I appreciated how honest he was.
To be honest I'd like it more if they made FL character more… realistic? I mean it IS believable that traumatized people become like this (and honestly not just traumatized, there are people whose predisposition is just like this, some sensitive people etc). The problem I have with her character is that they show us how all those men fall head over heels for her but WHY? I get it she is pretty but they never show us what's so special about her to fall for her this hard. It looks more like obsession than love, but the show says it is love so… I think they could have made it more believable if they showed more of a happy fl in relationships (maybe not *happy*, but at least not dead inside?) so that she looks like a person one could fall for.
