Not GH herself, but I’ve read many comments with viewers anxious about her “aggressive” and emotional behaviour which almost shouts that she is EJ. Many viewers think it’s too early to reveal herself as EJ.
I on the contrary would like him to grow up and end up together as a happy family with EJ, but honestly it rarely…
Yeah, I know what you mean… I just feel that EJ and SH were perfect for each other before everything happened. Both kind, naive and see only good in everyone. But now SH is still the same person, just beaten down to numbness emotionally, while GH/EJ is a changed person, traumatized by people's evilness and two-facedness. Even if SH will cry his eyes out for what happened to her he will not be able to understand the depth of her suffering. Even when he learns about HR's true nature it will not be the same feeling of betrayal that EJ felt, because he's never loved HR in the first place. And then there's HJ, who learned about people's hypocrisy from childhood. He is used to see everyone in a bad light first and doesn't care about being nasty and rude himself. I bet in the same situation where his fiancee's girlfriend makes a move on him he would not hesitate to tell her to get lost and get more protective of his fiancee. But he definitely has a lot of growing up to do to become a worthy partner for GH/EJ. I guess he's never had motivation to change before, but soon he will want to do better.
I don't like Oh Ha joon as ML, do you think the FL will end up with him ?
I on the contrary would like him to grow up and end up together as a happy family with EJ, but honestly it rarely gets to that in revenge dramas. Typical plot goes like that: ML likes FL who wants to get revenge, he helps her with or without knowing all the circumstances. FL usually knows about ML's feelings and might use them, or just let him help her without “using him“ but just accepting his help. Even if FL starts feeling attracted to ML she usually shuts that feeling off, because she needs all her attention on revenge. It ends with her separating with ML on good terms or just with them being on good terms but without showing us any serious romance between them… It's quite difficult to mix romance and revenge in one show well. Maybe HJ will find out something about his mother's death and will want to get his revenge too, then they'll become partners in revenge, in that case there might be some more romance involved, I think. I just want to see her at least in the beginning stage of creating her own family by the end of the show. We all now that she will make a great mother.
Another small thing I like about this drama is that an evil FL is an actress, so it makes sense that when it comes to EJ her acting (all that crying, etc) in front of everyone and especially her husband is so believable. In many other dramas it just didn't sit well with me when evil people lied with acting skills of a pro lol. In real life it's not that easy to lie so confidently and expressively.
Even though many viewers don’t like that GH is almost revealing herself as EJ at the start of revenge I actually don’t see a problem with that because the fun thing is even if HR and SR get confirmation that she is EJ the only thing they can do is to kill her, because they will lose everything by revealing that she is EJ. But harming her is not easy now because of her powerful “mom”, so this knowledge will only drive them more nuts.
It would be perfect if EJ and HJ got married knowing each other's pasts to be partners in revenge, but I am afraid that EJ will just use him without telling anything which will leave them both heartbroken in the end T_T
why can’t we have a drama without a one-dimensional greedy evil character? :( I hope I am wrong but for now it looks like we are going that way with the aunt. argh! this type of character is so out of place here…
I am also very curious where the writers are going with the Anthony character, because bullying by celebrities is such a hot topic in SK right now. I imagine there are a lot of real idols like him — who bullied someone a long time ago, didn’t reflect on it, forgot about it and are actually more worried about people finding out their “before plastic surgery” photos. I get that his character is written to provide comic relief and his scenes ARE funny. Maybe I wouldn’t think twice about it before, but not now. I really hope it will be a very meaningful role.
I’ve watched 3 episodes and this drama gives me a feeling of dramas from 10 or more years ago (in a bad way). It is super dramatic, criminals are all psycho but I can’t feel the substance, it seems kind of fake? Maybe because there is this one “control room”, where half of the episode takes place and it makes it look like a theater stage. There have been much better detective dramas for the past couple of years, I guess I expected more.
can you recall was it a happy ending for main leads?
I think it is different in each ep, but yeah, since it is not a pure romance genre and has a lot of characters as every daily drama I’d say the leads’ scenes take up from 3 to 15 minutes per episode. You can try watching the first few episodes to get the understanding of who-is-who and then just skip all the scenes without the main leads.
This was so much better than I expected. Probably because I kind of binged it and didn't watch it while it was airing, also used FF button for the characters I was not invested in. Of course it should not be compared to shorter dramas, but I enjoyed it enough for a daily drama. It has a very basic plot for the genre, full of all common tropes and cliches. The fun thing for me was that unexpectedly it was not about good guys suffering for the 95% of the show just to win in the last few episodes, but it was actually bad guys who were anxious, kept walking on shells and repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot trying to create problems for the good guys, while they just kept chilling and living their own lives, solving problems as the came, being oblivious to the whole conspiracy around them lol.
I didn't really like the female lead's character, especially in the beginning. She was supposed to be the positive hardworking candy type, but I found her very immature and unreasonable sometimes. And I think the actress definitely improved her skills since this drama, in her recent projects her acting is so much better. Still, it didn't spoil my experience much.
The ending is also good for a daily (no forgiveness caused by pregnancy or illness, no amnesia etc.)
