What's wrong with bromances though? πIn my personal opinion that you're fully free to disagree with, bromances…
I actually love bromance, but censoring a BL for profit is where I draw the line. The difference between censored BL from China compared to any other country is that China has explicitly banned BL in their country. So it's understandable when Chinese creators censor and no one blames them for it. But when Korea adapts a BL and censors it, they do it purely for profit and homophobia and nothing else. I can't stand shows that do that. And I'd have to disagree about bromance shows challenging any stereotypes. The reason why Bromances are preferred by countries like China and Korea is because they conform to the status quo. It's about two "straight brothers" doing stuff together for purely platonic reasons. There's nothing challenging about that. In fact BL challenges a lot of stereotypes in that men show alot of emotions and are very vulnerable instead of the typical, introverted, Rich CEO types in a lot of straight shows. Bromances aren't bad but I'd prefer actual BL to censorship.
I remember when the producers *almost* turned this into a bromance (like that other trash drama airing rn) but the backlash made them change their minds and made the best KBL ever! I'm glad they listened.
Sol is just too precious (and normal) to keep being entangled in all this π
