Ah, another deus ex machina, just like every other so-called "plot twist" in this drama. The writers throw things into the story without previous context or buildup, and the story has no real direction except to fill out 16 episodes.
First 3 eps were amazing, everything else so far (up until ep 9) has been just dumb. I'm really disappointed.
The idea is very good, the execution a little off. Also I'm starting to develop major problems with Han Hyo Joo's…
All the hit dramas you mentioned were melodramas with serious acting, which she can do really well, leading to her solid place in the industry; it's these awkward rom-com bits that she can't pull off. If you've seen any of her bad rom-coms like Sweet 18, you'd see how cringe-worthy she is when she has to act happy and be funny lol
Does anyone know any dramas that are paced similarly to this with the same kind of suspenseful feel? I am dying…
You might like Wanted if you're enjoying this and loved Creul City...it's somewhere in between these two in terms of intensity, and it moves along at a reasonable pace. The suspense is great and it'll have you piecing together your own clues every episode :D
There's also Lee Jong Suk's previous drama, I Can Hear Your Voice, which was mysterious and amazingggg <3
Only question I have is how come the scene where the father stabbed Kang Chul didn't make it in the comic? It…
Lol I meant it's a plot hole either since it was left unexplained, or since it just hasn't been explained........yet.
Thanks for clearing up those details about Kang Chul's silence, I think I didn't catch that before...but all of that just seems so...blegh. I hate when writers throw in twists like they did in episodes 5 and 6; it seems like they're just screaming, "AHA! BUT HE KNEW ALL ALONG AND HAPPENS TO BE AN EXCELLENT ACTOR WHO CAN FAKE HIS REACTIONS AND NEVER SLIP UP OR GIVE US A HINT BECAUSE I HAVE NO OTHER WAY OF EXPLAINING THIS TOTALLY NEW DETAIL THAT I JUST ADDED TO THE SCRIPT!" It's like when you read a detective novel and the culprit is someone unexpected because of the footprints that weren't even mentioned to the reader at any point. I think readers/viewers should be shown everything, perhaps in cleverly disguised ways, so that they have even the slightest chance of guessing what's going on ("Wanted" is an excellent example of this). Otherwise, it doesn't seem as well planned out to me...but that's just my preference.
As far as furthering the plot of this story is concerned: the knowledge of the ability to travel between the two dimensions is painstakingly being kept a secret from everyone in Yeon Joo's world by just a few characters for now, so I assumed that this secret would have a significant role in the story in the future. Yeon Joo, the father's assistant, and Kang Chul have been trying to figure out the webtoon's rules, so although it's still a mystery for now, it would make sense to assume that these rules would be revealed as the story progresses. If all of a sudden they don't even care how it works anymore, I'd say that's when this small detail would become a gaping plot hole. Like you said, the drama isn't even halfway done yet so we don't know; let's hope it'll be explained like you think it will be!!

Oh...but then why did he tell everyone to look for one attacker and then Yeon Joo as an accomplice, instead of two attackers and Yeon Joo as the third suspect?
Edit: On second thought, either this is a plot hole, or the comic won't reveal it's mysterious way of working to the general public (Yeon Joo's world) just quite yet.

Because Kang Chul didn't remember it until later (when it was revealed). Only what Kang Chul sees and knows for sure is what gets revealed in the comic. He was too disoriented from the initial unknown culprit's wounds to realize there was a second stabber.
This drama is sooo good at making you think as you suspect different characters...love it <3
I've thought this since ep 4 or 5, declared it after ep 6, and believe it more than ever after ep 11: the kidnapper is probably Choi Joon Goo PD. Let's see if I'm correct!
This show has a lot of plot. If you don't pay attention, you won't get it and you won't like it. If you want something mindless, you can go watch The Heirs. Love is the moment over there, but not here. This is a suspenseful mystery and crime drama. It's not for everyone.

You're welcome ^.^ Jin Se Yeon is a great actress, but they gave her a boring character here so she couldn't do much. I loved her in Bridal Mask :D and LJS is always amazing haha

I made it to ep 14 before I put it on hold because I didn't like the changes. The first 2-4 eps were excellent but it pretty much got boring after that. If you like the actors (especially Kang Sora and Park Hae Jin) then I recommend you keep watching because they were great, otherwise I wouldn't bother going past ep 4.
This drama was WRITTEN AS IT AIRED. Viewer feedback rooted for the well-liked actress Kang So Ra as opposed to rookie Jin Se Yeon, so the writers FOCUSED ON KANG SO RA'S CHARACTER. This messed up the plot for Jin Se Yeon's character and allowed little airtime for development. Despite having a good cast and a strong start, the changes due to public opinion were what caused the downfall of this show.
This drama doesn't help with my second lead syndrome. Seok is THE MAN. Can't the writer be swayed by popular consent and have him get the girl? Other dramas have done that...PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF MY ACHING HEART </3

And yaasssss to all the other suggestions!

Edit: Sorry, that was long haha

Except I wouldn't call the kidnapper evil...I think he's just got a twisted sense of justice D:

...sorry, I love that guy lol <3
